I don't have a violent streak, but rather an explosive temper when pushed to my limit. That limit is rarely met nowadays. Getting into a fight just isn't worth it when you have too much to lose... you never know if the other guy is gonna end up shooting you or finding out where your house is and fucking with that or your family or if he just doesn't understand when a fight is over. I got into a few fights in elementary school, a major one in high school and a bar fight where I defended myself and was promptly thrown out before things would have turned really ugly. That was 18 years ago. I've never lost a fight and I plan on keeping it that way

In my early to mid 20's I was living a life where violence and guns where everywhere.

Some of my friends got shot and a lot got jailed to.

The only time I have fought was in grade 4 beat up a school bully.

The rest of my life I always resulted to discussion to sort a problem.

Hell I was a doorman at a stripclub for a while and never had to throw a punch or rough someone up.

Fighting doesnt solve anything, just creates bitterness. I do however think its important to know how to defend yourself, because there is a lot of fucking crazies out there that will try shit with you. My brother and I have been in all kinds of classes for a bunch of different shit, not too mention we spared everyday for like 10 years with each other.

3 years ago my brother was jumped at a mcdonalds by 4 guys, he hurt 2 of them really badly before they even took him to the ground.

In college, this guy was swinging a pool cue at my friend face in our campus bar (while my friend was fighting this guys friend), I was not paying attention to any of this, but when I saw what was about to happen I sidekicked the guy in the face and he dropped like an anchor. Mr poolcue ended up getting arrested.

I try to control my anger. Go for a jog or something. Work out. I have been in many fights growing up in the Bronx. It was out of defense since I stand only 5'1" and 110 lbs. And tequila makes me really social. Hey I'm about having a good time and not a chip on my shoulder.

I have a really bad temper , I used to get into trouble a lot , so one friend of mine told me about entering an MMA Gym he used to be, to manage that anger.
My first day was really heavy I trained a lot and I was exhausted , but I realise when I was going home that I was a little bit more aggressive after the Gym than before. I think all kind of physical sports , get more adrenaline and testosterone to your body , so you have to try not to be angry at all cost, I remeber going to clubs with my sis because of this.
Now after 1 year and a few month I become a totally cool guy , not picking up fights for any reason.

I was pretty violent in my late teens and early 20's, and the Army let me use it constructively and kept me out of trouble. I accepted any challenge offered to me and usually rose above it.

I've grown out of that since I've gotten a little older. I dont go around starting shit anymore, but I wont let anyone try to push me around. I stay pretty level headed until my limit is reached, then the explosive temper gets unleashed and I dont care what the consequences are at that point. Luckily, it rarely happens anymore.

Yes I guess I am. I refuse to take shit from anyone. I have been in quite a few barfights with guys. Stabbed my husband once. I will not hesitate to finish a fight or shut someones mouth.. Yes, I was raised by bumper stickers... unlike the pure brilliance it requires to come with a phrase like that.

Let's use the warchild (appropriate name) as an example. If I say something to him, and it makes him mad... is he able to handle it? Cope with it? Come up with something to say back? No... he has to resort to violence in order to force me to come up with an apology simply because he knows no other way to do it.

Violence, even as a tool, is used when all other options are exhausted. A leader (not the make shift ones like Bush) should consider all options... from negotiation, politics, cohersion... what have you, and have violence as one of those options. But it's only the first option of those who are incapable to even consider any of the other options first.

But even Bush had issued warnings and other such things to Iraq before invading. So thus, you could say, even then their first option wasn't violence.
