B2C Marketing Opportunity

75,000 Drinks will be served at Spring Break this year wouldn't you love it if your logo was on every one of them?

Demographic: 30-50,000 Spring Breakers all the next gen of Internet Consumers

Promotions: Several opportunities ranging from Wet T-shirt contests to on the beach direct marketing to attract attention to your brand.

Why do all these companies spend the big bucks to brand to the broke college kid?

Because whether they graduate, or party their way to failure they all have one thing in common... they are the latest generation of Internet consumers and the more they recognize a brand, the more likely they are to buy that brand.

Their technological savvy ensures that we will see more Internet purchases than in the previous years why not influence that buying power?

This is an awesome marketing opportunity for any companies wishing to reach out and directly embrace the consumer.

To learn more about how you can be that brand contact me on ICQ 264 252 056

I love the bootie shorts for the wet t-shirt contest! After the shirts come off, those usually stay on and those co-eds love shakin' their moneymakers!

There are ways to make money here for sure.

I don't think having your name on a cup is one of them though.

Things people need to remember about spring break (i've been more then my fair share of times in the past), the kids are drunk the majority of the time. If they have a cup in their hand there is a pretty good chance they are drinking and likely drunk, and when they are finished with it, it will get tossed in the trash. If they even read what is on it, the chances of them remembering it several days later when they get back home is slim to none. Even with a very brandable and easy to remember domain I bet your ROI would be very low.

Now if you could collect their email address from them so you can contact them when they get back home to their pc, that would be a good idea. Or if you give them something they will want to take home with them, t-shirts do great but cost is higher. Credit card companies make a killing off of college kids by getting them to signup for credit card all for a free stupid tshirt.

There are some good ways to make money from this market and there are a lot of ways to lose money if you don't do it right. A little innovation and thinking out the box someone could make a ton of money here. (Besides Girls Gone Wild).

Actually the chance of them remembering the branding is very good. It is sort of more of an immersion process that we use to promote these products.

First the students are hit buy us on the beach where we play all sorts of branding games with them, for example the hot game last year ended up being Sex Search.com Sex Trivia.

In exchange for playing they were give some shwag, condoms that said Sex Search on them (being used above for a water balloon fight) and hot movies free minute cards. If they actually won the game they were given cool Sex Search T-shirts or water bottles or beach bags.

At night they were hit with the branding again in the bar, sharpied to themselves for $1/domain or on the banner behind the girls in the contest or via the shirts and booty shorts.

What happened over the course of a week while the kids were hit over the head with our branding they came to associate us with the products and to recognize the brands and in some cases they came back the following days to let me know they had looked up our sponsor's sites on line.

Promotional offline marketing really focuses on building a brand and doesn't necessarily come with quantifying results through sales and emails, it is the same reason Tide sponsor's a nascar, to keep brand recognition up even though they are already one of the leading brands of detergent.

Something we are also doing this year is a text to screen program where students can send messages via their cell phones to a short code and it will appear on the sponsor branded screen in the bar. This will allow us to connect not their emails but their cell phone numbers for future marketing purposes.

Also for a sponsor who was interested in collecting profiles we could set something up in the bar where the students would get a ballot into a drawing for a wii or an xbox 360 in exchange for their info.

The possibilities are endless. Do not discount the affect of a logo being on a cup that they will see everytime they go to that bar thoughout spring break particularly since Rick's is really the bar of choice for everyone to really party at. Those logos will be retained and noticed particularly when coupled with enforcement from the beach and other spaces.

I will gladly brand cocktail napkins or anything else (within reason no live animals or anything too fantastic) that you guys would like to see in the bar.

So Sexsearch sponsored this promo last year with HotMovies in Key West and it was amazing! It's the perfect B2C promo that we've worked on being that there's so many kids there for spring break that are looking for hedonism and debauchery.

I personally went last year and I was amazed how effective the promo was, during the day there's grassroots promotions going on all over the beach(giveaways and such), by night time the peeps were totally amped on the party which never ceased to amaze me how crazy things would get. This year is gonna be even better with some new sponsorship opportunities.

Everything Ellisa is saying is totally true, I personally would see peeps at the bars wearing our SS shirts and telling me that they had already signed up...

That kind of advertising rarely works IF your agenda is to generate direct traffic. However, if it's to be merely RECOGNIZED, it might work...

Again and if you read you will see that these types of promotions are focused at Brand Aware companies.

People who are actually trying to build a brand for their product that people will associate with... somethihng like Sex Search, Hot Movies, Adult Rental, or a perfect example would be Playboy.

In these situations "merely being recognized" as you put it is the whole point.

Giving consumers a reason to pick your product off of the virtual shelf when they are faced with a choice.

Although on a side note regarding getting traffic to a website. While we were promoting on the beach last year we took photos of all of the students we encountered and gave them a biz card that directed them to find their photos here: www.melonjoint.com/photo

We did know other advertising for this site and got 77.000 unique visitors to our site (and counting). So with the right call to action these promotions are actually very affective for driving traffic too.

We can even collect profiles and free signups from the bar every night. The possibilities are actually endless Reynold. You just have to have an offline marketing background to appreciate what this type of promotin can do for a product.

The more outside the box you get the better results you will have also!

Funny you should mention that... last year at College Spring break in Key West the only other company marketing anything on the beach to the students was Smokeless Joe's Chewing Tobacco or Copenhagen i think is the parent company.

Anyhow turns out that the College kids biterally complained to us about how rude it was for them to be marketing something as grosse as chewing tobacco on the beach to students.

When I asked if they thought the porn was an issue they said no you guys are fun you legitimize porn!
