I tried pot brownies a few days ago. The high seems to be different.

I don't smoke often, but I liked the brownies so much, I decided that's the only way I'm gonna take marijuana when I do smoke once in a while.

Is it healthier for you? Do you think it could have any side effects that smoking does not?

Tell me what you know about Pot brownies!

The high comes much smoother as the thc is absorbed slowly in your digestive tract. Sure it's healthier as you consume it without smoke... From what I know, there are no side effects.

In theory it could be better for you because it doesnt have the smoke but it still has the THC so i really dont know.. good question

The best way to make pot treats is with put butter. THC is fat solluable. If you put pot in water, you get wet pot. If on the other hand, you put pot in a fat, the THC will be extracted in to the fat.

Take a large put of butter and put it on a very low heat. The heat she be so low that it will melt the butter but not cook it. Similiar to clarifying butter to be used in Hollandaise sauce. Once the butter is melted add weed. You can use trimmings or other low quality weed in large amounts or you can use a smaller amount of high quality weed. It really doesn't matter. Let the butter stand on the heat so it remains melted with the weed soaking in it for several hours. Strain the butter to remove the weed and you will be left with a greenish butter. You can cook with this butter and it will have almost no taste and absolutely no lose weed in it. Replace the butter in your favorite cake, cookie or brownie recipe with your pot butter and enjoy. Be careful, strong butter will knock your ass out for a very long snooze.

You say let the weed stand in the butter for SEVERAL HOURS? I had heard that you put the weed in the butter, and heat it untill it comes to a slight boil, then take it off the heat, let it sit for 10 minutes, then do this again a few more times to extract the most amount of THC.

Has anyone else heard/tried this method? Is that the best? If not, what is the best way to heat the pot to extract the most amount of THC??

I've always let it stand at a low heat, mixing it up for a few hours. You'll know because the butter will be nice and light green when it's done. You can always try a small amount with both methods see what works best.

It depends on what they are made with. Just like any other plant, Cannabis has many different strains. With many differing mixes of alkaloids and compounds that interact with the THC to produce totally different experiences.

The long cook time does work BTW.

When I was running the clinic we used to have several slow cookers or crockpots going. Each had about 4 pounds of butter in them and enough ground up trimmings to make almost a gum consistency. Kept the slow cooker on low for six to eight hours. Then strained it all.
We had to do this about three times a week since many of our patients could not tolerate smoking it.

We also made a tincture out of it that is a wee bit more complicated, tastes pretty foul if you ask me, yet would fuck one up beyond all belief. This was mostly used in drinks where patients could not hold down food in their stomachs to well until well after the marijuana took effect.

Lastly we also filled gel tabs with just the thc crystals, so they could be disbursed in pill form. Only issue with those is that they hit you like a brick out of know where.

as mentioned butter helps the weed absorb..

SUGAR slows it down . so lots of butter less sugar..

Making pot butter helps so you can make many batches and helps the weed get fully absorbed , but you dont need to make butter first..

Heres an EASY EASY pot bownies method that works..

Use ANY brownie recipe basically. but cut the flour in half and substitute the same amount in weed , cut the sugar in half.. thats it..

You can even use those "box" brownies or cakes , just add in weed thats it. but they will be a bit dry and because you cant take out the sugar will take a bit longer to get high but that can be a good thing. makes the high longer and steadier.

Heres a great method for pill ( although im sure you have your own methods but )

Boil weed in 99% isopropyl alcohol ( get at drug store )

( because its alcohol the boiling point is much lower.. and because its alcoho the fumes sink fast so make sure you dont use an open flame , instead use elctric hear , and always boil the iso in another pan of water.. ( like a large frying pan filled with water with a smaller pot in the center with iso and weed ( as much as you can mix it and it still be wet )

boil for 5 mins , filter the weed out with cheese cloth then boil the liquid down until no alcohol remains, ( you will now be left with tar )

Cooling the tar will make it hard , heating it will make it liquid..

Now just fill pill capsules with the tar..

If you want clear oil before you make it simply GENTLY soak the weed in water for 2 days then drain and dry completely ( do not agitate the weed ). All we are doing is removing the chlorophyl

some tips for oil..

To make it easily you must use 99% isoproyl alcogol not anything less.

Because alcohol has a lower boiling point than water, every single iota of water is what you left with at the end because all the alcohol will boil away before the water does. So your goal is to have as little water as possible.

SO the weed must be really really dry, and as crumbles as possible

The tricky part is at the very end when the last bit of alcohol is boiled away , if you do it too long you will burn it.

aS the alcohol boils away you will see a white "fog" like steam but different coming from the mixture , when the alcohol is gone you will no longer see this mist so watch careful , and pull it right before it looks like tar .. if your concerned just take it off early and let it sit for a few days to evaporate

heres a simple simple way to make oil with even a small amount of weed..

get a length of pvc pipe like about a foot. any plastic pipe will do but pvc is easy and cheap.

Get a cap for one end of it or make one , ( they are cheap at hardware store like $2 for everything )

ok now drill a small hole in the cap . on the other end tape a coffee filter over it..

now simply fill the pipe with weed , screw the cap on ..

Now get a can of that butane lighter fluid for refillable lighters.

Squirt the butane into the hole in the pipe

( wear gloves butane is super cold )

Put a cup under the other end to collect the fluid

Butane boils at room temperture so when it comes out it will come out as liquid and quickly evaporate.

makes instant oil . takes like 5 mins start to finish

Yup smokey all of those will indeed work and well I am sure.

We just couldnt on certain items due to certain patients demanding nothing being treated, all organic, blah blah. So instead of making more than one type of pill we just stuck with a single variety. Plus they were never of that great of a demand. Honestly in forms of popularity it was raw, then baked goods, then tincture, then pills.

We had tried a recipe close to yours for brownies but many people did not like the actual pot in the brownies itself nor the texture. Oddly though we sold more lemon bars than brownies.

I was listening to a Tommy Chong interview a while back and he said when he was in jail he would dip pot buds in honey and eat them, and that would really give him a hell of a buzz. I was thinking about trying it, but would it work? I though THC had to be heated to get the effect.

add a couple cups of water...

the water solluable parts you dont want are released to the water the thc is released into the butter. chill it when your done and the butter floats to the top.
