The long cook time does work BTW.
When I was running the clinic we used to have several slow cookers or crockpots going. Each had about 4 pounds of butter in them and enough ground up trimmings to make almost a gum consistency. Kept the slow cooker on low for six to eight hours. Then strained it all.
We had to do this about three times a week since many of our patients could not tolerate smoking it.
We also made a tincture out of it that is a wee bit more complicated, tastes pretty foul if you ask me, yet would fuck one up beyond all belief. This was mostly used in drinks where patients could not hold down food in their stomachs to well until well after the marijuana took effect.
Lastly we also filled gel tabs with just the thc crystals, so they could be disbursed in pill form. Only issue with those is that they hit you like a brick out of know where.
