Need 50-100 Mbps Customers for Verio Connection w/ backup - GoFuckYourself.com

Sorry, but this is just a one-off from Cologroup.

If anyone is looking for high end bandwidth through Verio with a redundant backup, let me know.

I have a gig verio line being installed in 2 weeks and I had to commit to a large amount of bandwidth, so I am going to sell the first 250 Mbps with failover between $60-$75/Mbps. It will never be at this price again, so if you are interested let me know.

The one time deal is as follows:

50 Mbps Verio @ $75/Mbps = $3750
100 Mbps Verio @ $60/Mbps = $6,000

are you in that POS datacenter off lajolla village drive? in the sun/verio building?

if you are, there are some things you should know about its 'redudant' nature. like, its not, power wise. they pulled 2 feeds into the building, and they are both SDG&E feeds, off
the same primary circuit. We moved all 55 cabs worth of machines out of there last year
because of that. but we left the nice white
cabs for verio...

there are some other issues there as well, but they mostly have to do with the sales weenies that lie outright on a regular basis...t

what would you do for about 70 TB/month usage? i am locked in for another 6 months right now, but am always interested in competing offers for future consideration.

That is about 221 Mbps and you would need a 300 Mbps connection. That would be $18k/Mo. Since it would be in 6 months, I'd have to see what things look like at that point. I may even be able to beat that price.

jesus prices have dropped...verio 2 years ago was $450 a meg. gblx was in that area, L3 was around $300 or so. UU==$$

One a gige feed with 10-15% saturation, our bill was around $40k a month, that was level 3 in early 2001.

and i still hate verio, mostly from the sales side. network was 'ok' at best, routing in san diego to primary cable network(s) was shit poor. their HSRP implementation didn't work right, etc. The premier NOC was nice though, I got to be on pretty good terms with those guys..

uh...this assumes that 70TB is sustained 24/7. what kind of traffic patterns?

a few years back my 16 year old friend had to explain how to do reverse DNS to them on the phone one time.. they also randomly blocked off a couple thousand of our TCP ports one day for no reason.. "oops" i think they said. heh.

yeah, that was my guess. if i were you i'd get a gige line pulled, see what kind of deal you can pull for the per meg cost, then sublease
the bw for a couple bucks over that. push it up to about 60-65% capacity, then get another one.

Well, depending on your peaks and valleys, that would make a difference. Overall, there are a few options and I am sure I could get the total price to where you want it.

Main thing is, you have a premium provider as a primary and a backup.

No, this is in LA, Telco Neutral Facility. We handle our own routing, not the facility.

they kept dropping our routes in the beginning(we pushed a /23 back through the fw, vs switch endpoint, they got confused. then they ran a 100Mb feed from the ceiling tile, only strand we could get for over a year:"It'd take too long to run another". and having a UPS that is not capable of running 2 30a 120v strands to each was just bullshit. no redudant power in the cabs unless we did it ourselves. so we, ahem, borrowed a PDU key, shut the circuits down, and did it ourselves.
