This isn't true at all. The HIV drugs that have been developed in your country are saving lives. And more and more people are getting tested for HIV. Getting tested for HIV doesn't carry the stigma it once did. It no longer means you're gay. I was in the hospital the other week and the doctor told me some nuns had come in and gotten tested. Testing is free in most areas and anyone stupid enough to not get tested gets what they deserve.

On that note, there needs to be funding for Post-Exposure Prophylaxis for HIV. I believe that it is very important for preventing the spread of HIV, but it is also very expensive, about $1000 for the drugs alone.

Oppression: Was not talking about the war, they do not live within the borders. We can leave that off the table. I am speaking of general oppression of our own people with minorities many of which are becoming majorities soon (non whites). You covered most of it yourself. Freedom of the press: How about the sites that go offline due to politics and threat of jail time? We can leave off the table that to much of the media is owned by just a few companies as well.
Though if we do have freedom of speech, why would I need to be put in a special zone in order to protest at a speech, one very very far away in a fenced area?
Why are more and more debates and rallies invite only?

Medical: If you can afford insurance which many can not it somewhat works. If you are near dirt poor you are also in the clear, more so than those that can afford it actually. Now if you are somewhere in the middle you are in essence fucked.

AIDS: Check the infection numbers in poor ethnic regions of the US. Places with either a high prison turn over ratio or bad drug usage combined with a lack of desirable males. Tell me why we can not have needle exchange programs in these areas? Why do we not have condoms in prison?
Simple fact the rate of infection among poor women in America and specially African American women is insanely high in comparison to white people in general. Quick link to older data. Government does not check often.

Lobbyist: Never to the level it is at today.

Poverty: I know my wording was wrong on this one and will take the hit. Even with adjustments for inflation and the like, the majority is above the poverty line if you go by census reports. Though they ignore areas under 65k people. Regardless some 40+ million live below the poverty line.

School system: as a whole typically fucked. Yes a generalization, yet the majority of people attend them.

Standards being lowered: School testing, admittance guidelines, hell even the Military has lowered their standards.

Small ruling class: A number of corporations and groups get to decide nearly everything. Back to the lobbyist.

Prison system: Just because it works against the rich on occasion does it mean it is not biased?

How much political freedom do we really have? We are stuck in a rigged system with two parties forced up on us that get all of the money. Unfortunately we are apathetic and no longer care. Everything must be black and white. Find me a list of other countries that have suspended habeas corpus.
We place religion over science, we also legislate morals whenever we can, as we all know what is best for everyone else.
I feel it all starts at a very young age. We are taught to not really ask questions, we are prepped to be good little consumers at the expense of everything else. We fill our text books with myths, lies, and fairy tales. Any real education is far from important nor needed. After all we can graduate up failures and just lower what is expected of students. Then we wonder why more people believe in angels than evolution, or that Christopher Columbus made his trip to prove the world was round.

I do not expect America to be perfect. I do not feel it is an entirely terrible place yet either. Our grandparents version of America was great and better than most countries, with several major exceptions of course (race relations, and so forth). I would just desire for us as a country to change the course we are on and stop putting up with the shit they are feeding us. Enough of the illusions.

Though if we do have freedom of speech, why would I need to be put in a special zone in order to protest at a speech, one very very far away in a fenced area? Why are more and more debates and rallies invite only? Medical: If you can afford insurance which many can not it somewhat works. If you are near dirt poor you are also in the clear, more so than those that can afford it actually. Now if you are somewhere in the middle you are in essence fucked. AIDS: Check the infection numbers in poor ethnic regions of the US. Places with either a high prison turn over ratio or bad drug usage combined with a lack of desirable males. Tell me why we can not have needle exchange programs in these areas? Why do we not have condoms in prison? Simple fact the rate of infection among poor women in America and specially African American women is insanely high in comparison to white people in general. Quick link to older data. Even with adjustments for inflation and the like, the majority is above the poverty line if you go by census reports. Though they ignore areas under 65k people. Standards being lowered: School testing, admittance guidelines, hell even the Military has lowered their standards. Prison system: Just because it works against the rich on occasion does it mean it is not biased?
