Your Opinion: Why can CAM programs offer such high payouts per signup?
I just want to see if people have thought this through to the logical conclusion...
So... why do you think that the cam programs can offer upwards to $225 per signup? Tell me what you think. Alex |

Given some of them are only paying their hosts 35% where others are paying them 50%... and let's not forget about the traffic "leaks" that get them signups/sales that they don't have to pay out on...

edit: Forest beat me to it.
the average value per member = 400.00 - 800.00 w/ no other upsells to members. can be considerably higher if you are selling DVDs and other stuff. and... thats not "opinion" ;) but before anyone jumps on the "hey man, what the fuck, i want more money" train - remember there are high bandwidth costs, you have to have full time programmers, models want 1/2, webmasters want 1/2, site owners want 1/2, repeat users want discounts, and fraud is a challenge to deal with (most chargebacks i ever saw from 1 guy - just over 6K). if you can get paid 100.00 per join... and have all the tools you have today to promote that site, with the total volume of models online (affects conversions/retention) that they have... then you are much better off doing that than trying to start your own site. |

1 - total models online 2 - average attractiveness of models (although model attractiveness is less of a factor than people realize) 3 - how well the models work on average (huge) 4 - type of chat (free chat/private 1on1 or group rooms with discounted rates) the number one factor for conversions/retention is total models online. thats why Lars is was the first one to wise up and not try to stop girls from working on 2-3 sites at a time. the fact is that more girls = more money. probably more due to percieved value on the users part... because you can usually see most girls are sleeping, eating, fucking off etc. so the smaller the site is, the longer the struggle. to get to that point, you would probably need an average of no less than 15 girls online 24hrs a day. they would have to work pretty well, look ok etc. if that was the scenario, you would be looking at more than a year - maybe 18 months or so. again, you might have a small number of girls that REALLY have their shit together and keep 2 guys chatting every minute they are working or stay in private chat for 50% of the time they are online and many that perform much worse. so which girls are coming and going can also skew numbers dramatically. if you were constantly adding quality models and they were working well (you can see today, that most do not) then that curve can be shortened quite a bit. any cam site owner can come and tell me i am full of shit or wrong or whatever, simply because most have very different experiences based on what they are doing, how many girls, types of chat etc etc. |

It's very simple, surfers fall in love with the girls and spends lots of money. People who promote per signup are missing out. Go with revshare and make the big bucks. BTW - my program offers 30% revshare and we pay on the total deposit rather than on just what the surfer spends.

Tranza, pussycash is $50-$100 a sale, plus $125 per day bonus if you beat the number they set for you... so if you are high enough up the scale that coule run $225 per sale (in theory).
Okay, here is my take: The cam programs pay for the signup ONCE. After that, they never, ever, ever pay for that member again, even if they come back 1 or 2 years later. Effectively, they are buying out ownership of the member for life. When you consider that the bigger places have millions of members (I seem to remember pussycash suggesting 3 - 5 million members). As a result, your click thru traffic is likely made up of a certain percentage of existing members, or people who have signed up before... they aren't going to pay you when these people spend more money, they already own the member. It is one of the reasons why payouts are high and conversions are low. New members are harder to find, and the older members are already bought and paid for. As Pleasurepays says, it takes a while for them to get there, but places like cams.com and pussycash are way past the swing point, and are now on the gravy side of the game... so paying a whole pile of cash for a signup isn't as difficult when you have that many people in your system that have long since been paid for. (We have to stop agreeing like this... the old O people are going to be laughing) Alex |

A few people are getting a bit carried away. I started promoting live cams back in '97, I have seen the big spenders and made lots of money from cams. But talking in terms of $500 per average customer is either seriously over the top or else every revshare cam sponsor out there (including cams.com) has been screwing its customers for years.
That apart, the topic is a little naive, because we really can have no idea whether the payout is affordable, only possible with shaving, or simply set to buy market share. |

![]() 500.00 - meaning total money spent divided by total users that spent that money. 500.00 is a fairly average number and not spectacular by any means. while you have been promoting cams... i have been running the sites and studios since 98. at one point, i had over 250 employees. so i am not guessing at the numbers. paying 100.00 per join is affordable for established sites and its not necessary to shave. time online and total models online are massive factors as they both lead to and support larger volumes of repeat spenders. interclimax was doing this before 2000 and i knew their numbers at the time. they didn't have to shave... but obviously no one would believe this and they weren't really excited about the prospect of getting the point across by screaming "our members are worth more than you life" because it was just a matter of time before competition exploded. |

Good Read. It's my opinion that webmasters who promote cams solely always go with revshare anyway. Comments?

This is why we encourage people to send to the revshare program. You make more money over time, for sure.
But then the $105 per sale specials are pretty cool to take advantage of, too. ![]()

All I know is that I'm 5:180 000 on a cam sponsor that pays high payouts right now and 1:759 on a cam / dating sponsor that pays 40 PPS.

Now could you imagine how much better you would feel if you could have gotten that 180,000 to go to the other sponsor? That would be 220 more $40 signups you would have in your pocket compared with the, what, $525 you got elsewhere?
