:stop Hey all ya computer techs

Ok here is my latest problem Anything that has flashing graphics ie .gif they freak out on me they blink and go black then back to normal, Sometimes when IM typing the computer freezes for about 2 mins then resumes WHAT does this sound like? I have reinstalled win98 Hell today I even tore down the computer and put everytyhing in a bigger box. STILL doing it I uninstalled IE and reinstalled and AND still the same thing any hints? Could it be ram or the proccessor has anyone ever had this problem?

I'd start with the video card - if they have a bbs - check out that and see if anyone has the same problem

Or call them tomorrow and ask...

Did'nt you just reinstall everything? It is usually a conflict with java. Try going to java.sun.com and downloading the plug-in.

sounds like hardware problem, perhaps over heat. how hot is the machine? is the video card hot? (don't touch, just hold yer fingers near...)

It's a hardware problem, or REALLY FREAKY BAD drivers. More likely a) badly seated PCI or AGP card(s), b) overheating.

Here's how to tell. Does it happen when you just turned the computer on after it's been off all night? No? Then it's overheating. Get a proper heatsink, or fan.

Otherwise, remove and reseat your PCI and AGP cards.

You may want to start, however, by getting the latest drivers for each piece of hardware in your machine.

check those..might be you network card is on the irq of the printer or something
