Is "WHORE" an acceptable term to use for "talent"?

In another thread, it has been argued that, in our business, referring to talent as "whores" is not derogatory.

Is "whore" acceptable terminology?

Yes? No?

Do you mean within the industry? Or to surfers?

I agree that "whore" is an acceptable word to use in sales text, toyurs, etc. I'm more curious about business discussions within the industry.

Agreed!

What is even more amazing is to hear male talent on sets in LA talk like that, without giving a thought to their own hypocrisy.

Well, in my opinion the male talent are "male-whores" and the women could be called "whores" since there is no such word as "female-whore", I guess people made the word "whore" to automatically describe a female, but its 2006 now, men can be whores too.

Whore is not derogatory, it just means "someone that has sex for money". A performer is someone who has sex for money. I even call my close friends "whore" , like "what are you doing whore", it's like a friendly thing. Like saying "what's up bitch".

I don't find it derogatory. I call men whores too.

Everyone can be a whore.

People who would find it derogatory are too sensitive. I'm not content and I wouldn't be offended if someone called me whore. It would not be accurate though because I don't have sex for money. Actually I barely have sex at all.

I don't see what's so offensive about it.

No matter what definition you put, whore is a deragatory term. It is acceptable to use if you are insecure and need to talk down to females to make you feel like a bigger man.

Never call a girl a whore. Never think of a girl as a whore. none of them are and if they were it would make us pimps. And not in the GFY sense.

You can refer to them as a whore on a website when describing her to a surfer. You will be going for the section of the market that hates women and only happy when they are degraded and humiliated.

Much better you describe her as "fun and sex loving who has decided she owns her body, not men, and has decided the time is right to have as much fun with it as possible."

Why is a girl who has fucked as many 10 guys a whore and a guy who has fucked only 10 girls a loser?

Are there that many guys fucking rank whores or are all the girls keeping quiet?

It's not acceptable to say so but among close friends I call people who are fat "fat", people who are ugly I call em' "ugly" and anyone who is promiscuous (non-talent, just regular people whether they be male or female) "whore".

When I talk to close friend I tell her that her cousin is a "freakin whore" cause she banged so many guys. And when I get angry I also call my boyfriend a "whore" for being one in the past.

I always call men whores. It's not a sexist thing at all I think to degrade women. Lots of men are whores. And women too.

Everyone is a whore to me. I don't see why talent need special treatment.
Doctors and lawyers can be whores too.

I do not expect an asshole like you to grasp this but let me try to explain the question.....

"Is "WHORE" an acceptable term to use for "talent"?"

Nowhere there did he ask what the definition of whore was. The question is very clear here as is the answer.

The bottom line is that if it wasn't for the talent, non of us would be making any money. The talent deserves more respect than to be referred to a whore unless that is part of the shoot requirements. BEFORE and AFTER the shoots, the talent should be treated better than that.

Degrading those who put money ion your pocket is effectively the same as biting the hand which feeds you.

A little respect goes a long way.

Your opinion does not count since you are unable to distinguish between and whore and a slut.

Thank you, please drive through.

Also "whore" is not derogatory only towards women but towards males as well. For example a lot of women might actually REFUSE to date a guy because he is a "male whore" or "male slut". I don't consider it a bonus for a guy to sleep around. I consider them male whores.

Anyone that sleeps around is "whorish", even when their not in porn!!
I don't see why talent would be offended by this. When also non-talent people of both sexes can be whores!

in my opinion no. people tend to forget where their bread gets buttered. models play a primary roll in porn and despite all the labels that are associated with performers, at the end of the day, they are people just like you and i...

its like a webmaster calling a performer a whore and then getting mad when they are reffered to as a scumbag pornographer...

Before I would even consider getting involved in a conversation like this, I would have to ask you this question:

What is your definition of "a whore". In other words, what does the word "whore" mean to you?

I think that is an important distinction.

In my opinion "Whores" are the fantasy we sell a surfer.
It has a derogatory tone. And degradation is very often a part of fantasy.

But to use it with people you work with/do business with is clearly disrepectful.
If you don't mean to disrespect, then don't use the term.
If you *do* mean to disrepect, then you are an asshole.

The interesting thing is that most think of the female talent, not of the male. So whore is disrespectful and does not describe what the talent really is.

So I second your point of view. After all, aren´t we all whores as long as we are selling us? Every job is done for money and so all of us are whores. Only moral differences divide the jobs into respected and disrespected jobs.

You can do whatever you want if I called a girl a whore and she is a whore and she got mad I would tell her to find a new line of work.

Whore

1. A prostitute.
2. A person considered sexually promiscuous.
3. A person considered as having compromised principles for personal gain.

To me: "whore"=derogatory. And since we sometimes sell degradation fantasy, it makes to use it in marketing.

But just because a woman does it for money as part of the creation of product, doesn't mean she doesn't deserve respect (especially within an industry that does a whole lot for the money.)

A woman who does it for the money can be a performer, talent, porn actress, porn star, etc.
But the word "whore" has a negative conotation and using it in a business setting implies disrespect (and makes us look bad, quite frankly.)

Of course, You may *not* respect women who perfom in porn. Clearly many people here do not.

Degrading those who put money ion your pocket is effectively the same as biting the hand which feeds you.

A little respect goes a long way.
You have so much to learn my son. It's webmasters that put money into our pockets.

I don't use the term "whore" or any other pejorative terms on any of my tours or on any of my sites. I have more respect for the performers I work with and depend upon, for my members, and for myself to do that.

This is because I feel that if I am doing so just to make money, then in fact I could be encouraging such attitudes in others, and therefore I am putting money above people and promoting negative attitudes and behavior, which is something I try not to do.

Many people in the adult industry apparently stake their livelihood on promoting misogyny and degrading people, that is not how I choose to conduct my business.

I love sex and I enjoy erotic roleplaying, but when this becomes obscured (particularly when it is deliberately done in the context of mistreating another person), that is where I draw a line.

I don't mind joking around, and such - that's all in good fun, but packaging entertainment that consciously caters to the worst in human attitudes and behavior is not how I want to make my living.

forget for a second the morality of it; the use of degrading terms for your models is simply bad business. tain't professional.

if the shooter understands the psychology of the female he understands that to get the best images of her he must make her feel like she is a princess, that she is exciting, alluring, every man's fantasy.

lots of shooters treat girls like whores during the shoots, many POV shooters even.

and check how the girls' respond. lots of cum dodging, not much happiness from the girl. the chick just hates being there and it shows.

erotic?---let your surfer decide. there is a reason so many of these "content shooters" are having "blowout sales". surfers don't like that shit so much. most surfers like to see the girls having a good time. you don't usually get that response when you treat ANY girl like a whore.

and, i must say quantity does not = quality.

are they whores? of course they are. but a pro never lets the girl think that. the pro makes her think she is a goddess while she's getting boned in the ass. he does this so he can get GOOD content.

you do not get the best content when you degrade the model using ANY derogatory speech.

guys who think girls are whores are mostly guys that never got laid in high school. true, there is a niche for that, but it is not the biggest niche.

Sure it's derogatory to call models/talent whores - and it's obvious the intent is to decry.

If anyone seriously considers otherwise - they need to find a job elsewhere, that attitude stinks and is highly unprofessional.

No industry decries the product they offer - whether that's butter or some useless crap offered on infocommercials.

Considering many webmasters promote what they define as "whores", they are pimps in the real sense.

Try flippantly describing any product in derogatory terms in any leading ad agency and ass would be hitting the sidewalk in seconds.

I think you make a good point. thing is if someone said i was a fat person they would be right and I most likely would not be offended, actually obese puts me off tremendously. Now if someone said you fat whore heyyy wait a minute lol ya know? it's all in the context of how "talent" is referred to.

We hired this dirty whore to shoot a scene for us the other day.

Or... we hired this model the other day. What a dirty whore she is in front of the camera.
