building my first paysite!

Help a brutha out with some tips - how can I make it look like there is more content in the members area, how can I best generate cross sales, WHO should I cross sell to... amateur niche.

1.) Be honest with the tour, it will pay off in the long run.
2.) Forget about cross sales for now, get sales first.

Have more content in the members area. Or display the content you already have better. Improve your sales pages.

Contact other paysites in the amateur niche and ask for cross sale.

You'd first have to make sure that you have a decent conversion rate in general. This will increase your possibility of successfully converting other paysites to joint venture with you.

I totally appreciate that, but i don't have much fear about getting sales - I have my own traffic and I know how good it is. I was telling one of my models kind of the same thing - she wanted to put her best pics up in the tour and the galleries, but I believe that will only lead to chargebacks.

One thing I definately need, though, is more content - and my budget is running THIN.

Any suggestions?

I mean, should I give one popup and then redirect to the main page, should I use one of them funky "open directory" looking pages....

My budget was thin as hell when I started my site(s) over a year ago. Just buy some new content every month when the money comes in. Running and building a paysite costs your shirt. Be aware!

I dont own or run a paysite, but this seems like excellent advice. And Andrej should know, if anyone does.

it does sound good indeed - I've been in sales for many years, and it's always better to underpromise and overdeliver.

Not always possible, but always better :D

Agreed. Not being honest in the tour is one of the cardinal sins of having a site. Unless you want chargebacks and a huge amount of added agrevation for no reason.

Since you have your own traffic, the question you really need to consider is if you would truly make more money sending it to your own site. It may seem like a good idea and is, but only under the assumption that you would convert it at the same or higher rate if you sent it to a good sponsor with a similar retention rate.

I'm sure you know that the entire membership price is not profit. It's a gross that is reduced by processing fees, hosting, content, promo material and a hundred other things. I'm on icq if you would like to talk more. Good luck.

Hmm... $500 for content is a VERY LOW amount...

You could look for a financial backer to inflate the members area 10 fold. Often you will find people who have money but no drive... Airek runs RageCash which makes a lot of money. He doesn't own it. Someone else does. You might want to look into getting a financial backer and sharing the profit with this person.

For $500 you'd be better at free sites, submitting....go buy some partner accounts.

Exactly, a membership of $29.95 can be easily $10 profit. Then its better to promote some good sponsor and get $15-20 from such a membership. But I say risk it, if you work clever, you will make more when you learn how to run the program properly.

$500 is not gonna make a single surfer happy

I hope thats non exclusive, cause thatll be like 8-10 series times 50 pics then? If you wanna charge a serious amount aff like, like 24.95 or so at least have some more decent aka exclusive content
