The police called today and said that I have to go to court in February, 2007.

Apparently the drunk driver that I busted back in January is fighting the rap... which is hilarious since I have him caught red handed on camera.

The cops figure it's open and shut but... I gotta go to court... unless he pleads guilty before then.

Especially since the pics in that gallery are resized. The full res pics are off of an 8 megapixel camera.

On the full size, you can actually read the lable on the Southern Comfort in his passenger seat.

Not an attorney, but in the US (as in all states) it takes a subpoena to get you to appear and testify against someone. I suppose you could volunteer to show up??? Why would you though? To many things to go wrong + you could piss the other guy off who has a brother on crack....
Oh, and he carries a 2 foot blade.

Yeah, I've been thinking about that... but 1) the moment he decides to get an attorney, he can see the pics... in which case, he knows full well where I live. 2) I'm a programmer with lots of mainstream work... the cops already know about it too.

So I'm not overly worried about it... but it does still weigh on my mind a bit.

He smashed into the parked car head on.... he was fully loaded, driving drunk. He had the dog in the car with him.
He hit so hard that he popped his back tire off, breaking the wheel drum in half (you can see it in the road in the last couple pics on page 2).

Anyway, when he opened his door, his dog jumped out and ran away... wouldn't go near him. Finally he gave up, got back in his car and drove off on 3 tires. You can see sparks flying out the back of his car in the pics of him driving away. He also drove up onto the curb when he left.

In one of the pics (where he was chasing his dog), you can see the bottle of Southern Comfort in his passenger seat.

The DA called my friend and me once, over a year after we made a call to 911 about a drunk driverwho almost ran us and a bunch of other people off the road. The cops caught him and called us that same night to tell us, then bam, over a year later another call about it out of the blue. We said we would testify and even took off work to do it, then 2 hours before I was supposed to be there, the DA called and told me that the guy had plead out based on the fact that he knew there would be witnesses.
