Paysite Owners - Comments Please - GoFuckYourself.com

I was going to open up this site as just a regular free site but I've been considering the option of setting it up as a 3rd party cross promotion website for paysite owners that also gives you additional content for your members at no cost to you or your members. Before I chose which route to take I wanted to get some feedback from you guys (paysite owners that is) to validate the concept or include features you might want should the concept appeal to you.

In a nutshell, you put up a link in your members section that goes to this new site - user signs up free of charge and gets a pretty nifty service too

We do this across *many* paysites and what we wind up with is a user base that is cream of the crop. Sure we'll bring in outside new members to keep the traffic fresh and flowing - but there will be a large base of people that we all know has joined a paysite before - for you to market to.

As a paysite owner who's participating in the program and sending members in you'll get to:

Create classified ads to sell your upsells with your own linking code in it so you won't have to share any commissions with anyone - including me
Market to the members - send announcements out about your paysite - and should work great with trials.
Upload galleries (again with your codes [or rather no codes] so you're not paying anyone commissions
If you run a club - you'll benefit from having a great user base to market to and create a following for your club - swingers, voyeurs and the like...
If you have live shows (great for single girl websites) - you can be a scheduled event and get people to join your site while watching your show.
I'm open to ideas to make it successful for everyone participating

Members can't create classifieds, events or clubs so your promotions aren't buried in spam. If you've visited other sites like this - you know exactly what I'm talking about too.

This doesn't effect your promotional webmaster base - since your link inside the members section is already a paid join (you most likely paid a webmaster their commission) - they won't be losing out in revenue)

Yes, you will be competing with the other paysites to gain new members - but you're doing that now to an unknown user base AND paying commissions to the webmasters promoting your sites. I would expect to have slightly better conversion ratio's for you because the user base is from other paysites so we know they pull out the CC when they find a site they like and remember - there are no linking codes so you keep the full price of the join to yourself.

What's in it for me?
Well, not every paysite is going to participate and for those that don't - I'll put up some galleries that'll have my linking code in them but my stuff won't be any more advantageous than yours - I'll be competing on the same level as you to get a membership join - I'm not going to play favorites with myself.

If you want to be a featured listing, I'll charge a few bucks but I'm not interested in riddling the site with banners to generate some revenue - that slows the site down and wouldn't be visually pleasing.

Anyway - what's good about it, what's bad, what would you like to see built into the system? The goal here is to make it win-win for everyone so I'm open to any ideas you have. It's already a heavily modified script I purchased so adding more stuff shouldn't be that difficult

In this industry ideas are copied the day they are launched. I've got a head start because while scripts like this already exists, modifying it to do what mine does takes some time

good luck getting cooperation to get your links in the bigger member's areas. i highly doubt that anybody with over 5000 members active will take a risk like this. If you lose 2 and gain 2 what is the point? My members area is the most sensitive place of all that we could publish this idea's links. tell me if i am missing something?

I think you're missing a few points but that's my fault as I didn't want to get long and winded. There are gaps in explaining my thought process around the site and I should fill them in so paysite owners can make a more informed decision.

Members are gold - I think we can all agree that this is a true statement - but it's not a constant - it has variables like how much gold they are worth.

When you get a member - you have to get as much gold from them as quickly as you can because you only have a limited amount of time to maintain their attention before they cancel their membership and are gone.

For the most part (though it will vary site by site) Paysite Owners:

Get The Monthly Membership Fee (average 2-3 months)
Push Upsells
Gather Email Addresses
Cross Promote On The Way Out The Door

Then *POOF* - the member is gone and you're left to count how much gold they dropped off while sitting at your table - but not even this is a constant.

You got their email address so you can send them promo material - but do they read it? Unless you're tracking read messages (and taking that a step further and tracking the time the email was opened because "click - opps spam - delete" isn't an effective marketing campaign) - you don't know.
You can sell the email addresses - but again, do they read them?
Unless they took advantage of a cross promotion - you can't tell me where the old member went to. He's gone - thrown back into the pool of surfers mixed in with foreign traffic, people who'll never join a paysite and any other "unwanted" characteristics of a surfer and to get him back again - you're going to have to pay again.

I think the above is a resonable assessment of what paysite and program owners are faced with.

Putting up a link to Dateboard.com:

Doesn't effect the amount of gold you'll be able to collect from the member while you have them
Dateboard doesn't compete with paysites. They won't get from Dateboard.com the "good" stuff they joined a paysite for in the first place
It doesn't effect your cross-sells
It won't tempt your members to quit your paysite any sooner

What It Will Do Is:

Let you answer the question - *poof* where'd the old member go
Let you communicate with the old member and not have to worry about if they opened the email or not - my system is built so messages are displayed on their page
Let you continue to market your upsells to the member and not have to share the commissions
Let you entice the old member to come back to your site - this time commission free - unless you have lifetime commissions built into your webmaster program (i know of at least 1 that does) and we can accomodate that as well.
Have a base of of potential new members to market to - introduce them to a new niche

I honestly don't see a down side for you (as a paysite/program owner) - hell, if you guys think it's a better option to close open enrollment down and make the site invite only - we could make the entire community based from people who have joined a paysite and that's just a click of the button for me to implement that.

Honestly, how could you NOT want to be able to participate in a program that markets to only the people you KNOW have already joined a payste before?

That's better than buying the top banner on any website and being the only banner on the page..
That's better than buying the top results spot on any search engine...

And all it takes is putting up a link to Dateboard.com so the members you're already making your gold from - sees it

Now I pose the same question to you.... am I missing something?
