I think England suck. I need to know a decent Basketball team so that I can support them.

We where awful in the first half, we only started to play in the second half when Rooney and Lennon came on, also Downing played pretty well when he came on also.

The problem with England is, they are far too predictable. We didn't perform in midfield and link up the attack, we needed a player or 2 that was going to beat 1 or 2 players and create an opportunity.

Lampard was awful and gerrard just doesn't play well in the holding role

Based on our second half performance I think its obvious that changes need to be made, bold changes as well. I'd like to see nearly an entirely different midfield for the Sweden game.

I want to see downing on the left wing (because joe cole was poor today & has a bigger impact as a sub anyway) I'd also like to see Beckham dropped in favor of Lennon on the right wing

And in the center I would like to see carrick playing the holding midfield role for england and that would give gerrard the license to push more up the pitch like he goes for liverpool (scoring 20+ goals a season for em)

Then in attack I'd like to see Rooney start (if he is fit) and I'd like to see Wallcott given a start so we can see what he can do. If hes not playing well in the first half we then can bring Owen on in the second half

Bottom line England are too too predictable with the current team because there is no one in the side that can beat a few players, put Downing, Lennon, Rooney and Wallcott on and we can rip teams apart with shear pace !

Not for the next game at least. I really don't rate him very highly

In the first half he wasn't playing as a target man, he was dropping deep and defending which is kinda stupid because he needs to be upfront winning headers and putting them in Owens direction. Also he runs about like a headless chicken at times, hes not a quality center forward, the guy doesn't have the natural instinct to get into the goal scoring positions at the right time (like Robbie Fowler has) it always takes Crouch at least 5 chances to score a goal.

Also for a guy who is 6ft8 he should be winning nearly all the headers, but hes not prolific in the air. Fans will forget all this though, since he scored the first goal against T&T - I still think he useless though

You joking? He was the only one that did anything, sure his finishing was awful but still he had like 80% of all Englands chances, normally he'd put these away but was a bit unlucky. On any other day he'd have scored 3. To me he showed exactly why he is as important to the England team as he is to Chelsea. I can see him scoring against sweden for sure

I disagree, he had many chances yes but he didn't have the ability to put them away yesterday.

On the other hand, Gerrard was playing the holding midfield role for england. He gets ONE chance and tucks it away. Lampard had about 4 decent chances and missed them all !! You can't do that at international level.

Thats why I'd like to see Gerrard playing the attacking midfield role in the next match for england and Carrick playing the holding role for england which is his natural position !!

Lampard and Gerrard do NOT play well together for england, they play the same position and do NOT complement each other well.

When it comes push to shove I'd rather have Gerrard in the england team than Lampard

So Gerrard got lucky with one shot, doesn't change that Lampard was creating a lot more, as I said on any other day he'd put these away so it's not that he lacks the ability (no midfielder has scored more goals in the Premier League than he did last season). All Gerrard did yesterday apart from the goal was hoofing 40 yard passes. Don't forget in the European cup in Portugal Lamapard was Englands second scorer after Rooney. Lampard has in general been better for England than Gerrard, so I think it would be a huge mistake for them to drop him.

Besides if England had a decent manager Lampard and Gerrard would deffinately play well together. Either he should play 4-5-1 (with 2 wingers, a holding midfielder and Lamps and Steve in the center) or play attacking 4-4-2, not this boring midfield defensive struggle crap

I think I made a bad choice of words, I didn't mean Lampard doesn't have the ability, I simply was trying to say he wasn't on form to put the goals away

You are forgetting though, Gerrard was playing the holding role for England in that game, it wasn't his job to go forward. Plus Gerrard didn't have much options other than to hoof the ball 40 yards because the entire england midfield played piss poor. No one ran into space in midfield to create chances, no one tried to link up the midfield with attack which limited us to long balls for the first 60 minutes.

You say Lamard created many chances, but in the first 60 odd minutes we created very little. Thats why I think the entire midfield needs to be changed, because the current system just isn't working

Its boring and predictable !

I could not agree more ! Its the managers job to get the players to play together well and Erikson hasn't made any difference.

I agree with your tactics also, with a 4-5-1 (with 2 wingers, a holding midfielder and Lamps and Steve in the center) it means both Lamps and Gerrard can play their attacking football, Carrick can play the holding midfield role and we can have Owen or Rooney up front which will create more chances
