All Gerrard did yesterday apart from the goal was hoofing 40 yard passes. Don't forget in the European cup in Portugal Lamapard was Englands second scorer after Rooney. Lampard has in general been better for England than Gerrard, so I think it would be a huge mistake for them to drop him.

I think I made a bad choice of words, I didn't mean Lampard doesn't have the ability, I simply was trying to say he wasn't on form to put the goals away
You are forgetting though, Gerrard was playing the holding role for England in that game, it wasn't his job to go forward. Plus Gerrard didn't have much options other than to hoof the ball 40 yards because the entire england midfield played piss poor. No one ran into space in midfield to create chances, no one tried to link up the midfield with attack which limited us to long balls for the first 60 minutes.
You say Lamard created many chances, but in the first 60 odd minutes we created very little. Thats why I think the entire midfield needs to be changed, because the current system just isn't working
Its boring and predictable !

I could not agree more ! Its the managers job to get the players to play together well and Erikson hasn't made any difference.
I agree with your tactics also, with a 4-5-1 (with 2 wingers, a holding midfielder and Lamps and Steve in the center) it means both Lamps and Gerrard can play their attacking football, Carrick can play the holding midfield role and we can have Owen or Rooney up front which will create more chances
