The concept isn't without merit - it's just that to date - everyone (who I've seen) that has tried to enter this market tends to over-"featurize" (with the wrong features) and then under-develops a product that would be successful.
I have gone back and forth with myself trying to decide if I should actually build a program that would not only work, but also be accepted the surfer, paysite owners and the webmasters who promote the programs. Unfortunately, I've always had other projects come to the front of my "to-do" list and it's not something that I would like to run by myself after it was built any ways. I did however register the domains for it (intellibill.net and intellicharge.net) for intelligent billing and charging Any software program that offers paysite owners a fraud proof system, 0 reserves or hold backs and no charge-backs as well as eliminates the need for cascade billing is worthy of pursuit. I certainly have the resume' and reputation to build it and if someone (and when I say someone, I should either know you or know of you), has contemplated entering this market and wants to manage it once it's built - give me a shout and we can talk about it. |

There's lots of pre-paid Visa/MC cards out there right now. It wasn't like this just 4 years ago. I don't see the need for a 3rd pary anonymous card now a days.

You are all wrong and haven't a clue.
When you see us everywhere and the deals we are making- you'll someday apologize. Trey keep talking, you have given PV a lot of exposure today. Has anyone here even mentioned the likeness of an adult type of pay pal here? No because you all want to slam me for being in the right place at the right time- No shocker there. Hate me all you want, I am an executive these days, not a board whore like Trey. I have stock holders and clients to appease, not armchair quarterbacks. You'll live long enough to eat your words all you naysayers....

Peaches you know nothing about me other than what you read by idiots like Trey. Listen, I have taken nothing but consulting clients for 90 day agreements for the past three years...if in Trey's mind that means I get fired every three mos that's in his delusional mind. As for you, I heard that Prozac does wonders for Bi Polar personalities these days- if you need a script let me know I know a Dr. in the Hillbilly city you live in that may see you. Of course he is a vet, but I am sure you'll stop barking at passing cars real soon.

You'll see why soon. I am not at liberty to disclose anything at this time, and I will not post any more in this thread- go on and slam something you all haven't a clue about. It's entertaining to see who thinks they have brains here and who truly is cerebral enough to have an objective opinion. I am off to SD- See you at the Cybernet Expo.

Looks like this is not looking to good. Not many endorsements here for the product or KB himself.

Let's just take KB out of the equation for a moment... You have a stored value card whose primary (and it appears ONLY) use is for access to hardcore (and of course softcore) pornography websites. Addressing the obvious issue first, porn is an impulse buy and prepaid cards have been tried before and failed miserably. Next, lets look at distribution. In order for a retailer to offer this product, they have to have a POS terminal. That's really no biggie since there are many of them out there thanks to phone cards and other items that use them. So you would think step 1 would be major chains. 7-11. Circle K, etc. I don't see any way in hell that these companies will touch this. 7-11 banned playboy, a magazine which has never even showed a clit, from it's stores. Do you think they would offer a prepaid porn card? Yahoo doesn't even sell porn anymore! So lets say the major chains are out. There are still a shit load of retailers with POS machines. What do these retailers sell that require these POS terminals? Well think about it, now think about where they are usually located. Inner city. Selling phone cards, next to the cheap booze. Dont see much of a market for a stored value porn card with a $4 upcharge in these markets. After retailer support, you need industry support. Let's put KB back into the equation now and how many of you that have been insulted in this thread alone are going to jump on the bandwagon to support this? Keeping KB in the equation, this went from a stored value porn card, zero chargebacks to a paypal type system for adult. Well, their site doesnt mention a single thing about card holder to card holder transfer of funds. Their SEC filings dont mention a single thing about card holder to card holder transfer of funds either. And once that transfer is made, if it is made at all, how do you get the money out? No mention of that either. For those of you that understand paypal, you know that moral indignation had little to do with paypals exit from adult content. The reason for that was that the majority of fraud within the paypal system came from adult. Eliminate adult, eliminate a great deal of fraud. In addition, everything this card offers the consumer, is also offered by VISA and MASTERCARD gift cards. Easier to obtain. Cheaper to obtain. Can be used for tens of thousands of other items in addition to porn. No wink and a smile from the cashier when purchased. Walk into any bank in the world and get your money out. And finally, KB, you are an employee of a publically (although extremely thinly) traded company. I believe there are rules in regards to public disclosure. That's all I am going to say about that. If there was a product that offered expedited cash flow with zero risk and zero chargebacks that made sense, I would be on it like white on rice. However, it is my opinion, and apparently historys opinion, that this isn't it. Just my opinion for what it's worth. Prove me wrong, I will gladly listen. |

JMM,
You bring up some very valid points and you explained them well. I agree with the concept (as stated in my earlier post) but not the application used (or has been used in the past) to implement the concept - and that also goes for what PureVanilla is attempting to do as well. Everyone I've seen over complicates things. It's like building a ladder to climb up on the roof, but then also adding wheels to the bottom of the ladder in case you have to move it around and then adding an umbrella to it in case it starts to rain when you're climbing up it. You wind up with a ladder that has a bunch of extra stuff - that on the surface might be cool - but the wheels will make the ladder roll out while you're climbing it and you fall off and crack your head open or the umbrella is in the way and prevents you from being able to get off the ladder once you get to the top. You wind up with a product you can't use for its intended purpose. You mention that porn is an impulse buy and you are almost 100% correct. Joining a paysite isn't necessarily an impluse - deciding WHICH paysite to join is. The system I would build wouldn't even require the surfer to sign up to the paysite. All they had to do (instead of clicking on the "pay by cc" or "pay by phone" button on the join page is click on my "pay by intellibill" option. The following page gives them a confirmation that they're spending X dollars to join that site and once they click - they're a member. 0 forms to fill out.... and that is providing for impulse buying. There are obviously alot of backend architecture that needs to be implemented and securty measures put into place but I won't bore anyone with those details here. But.... the concept has merit and my ladders don't come with wheels |
