JMM,

You bring up some very valid points and you explained them well.

I agree with the concept (as stated in my earlier post) but not the application used (or has been used in the past) to implement the concept - and that also goes for what PureVanilla is attempting to do as well.

Everyone I've seen over complicates things. It's like building a ladder to climb up on the roof, but then also adding wheels to the bottom of the ladder in case you have to move it around and then adding an umbrella to it in case it starts to rain when you're climbing up it.

You wind up with a ladder that has a bunch of extra stuff - that on the surface might be cool - but the wheels will make the ladder roll out while you're climbing it and you fall off and crack your head open or the umbrella is in the way and prevents you from being able to get off the ladder once you get to the top.

You wind up with a product you can't use for its intended purpose.

You mention that porn is an impulse buy and you are almost 100% correct.

Joining a paysite isn't necessarily an impluse - deciding WHICH paysite to join is.

The system I would build wouldn't even require the surfer to sign up to the paysite.

All they had to do (instead of clicking on the "pay by cc" or "pay by phone" button on the join page is click on my "pay by intellibill" option. The following page gives them a confirmation that they're spending X dollars to join that site and once they click - they're a member.

0 forms to fill out.... and that is providing for impulse buying.

There are obviously alot of backend architecture that needs to be implemented and securty measures put into place but I won't bore anyone with those details here.

But.... the concept has merit and my ladders don't come with wheels
