Is there a more USELESS service than ePassporte?

So I'm trying to send money to a photographer in Russia, but I get an error that says, "For security reasons this feature is currently not available to your account." After 1.5 hours total time on the phone (of that 1.3 are on hold), ICQ messages and unanswered emails, I finally get ahold of someone who tells me Russia is "high risk" and therefore cannot receive money.

After rounds of that, I ask to speak to someone higher up. Again, she says the entire country is high risk and cannot receive money. So even though I've called in, answered a zillion questions to confirm my identity, I can't send money because it's high risk. What's he going to do? cancel the transaction, so I get my money back? yeah, risky...I've confirmed the transfer itself is valid. Then she says there can be no exceptions because it's hard wired that ALL Russian accounts are high risk and NONE of them can receive P2P money.

I questioned that statement, so she then tells me he has an affiliate account which cannot receive money (I never even gave her the account I was sending to, but I'll assume the error tells her that). Then she says if he signs up for another account, a personal account with a credit card, he can receive money...even though he's still in Russia. This is crazy.

So now my production is held up because of one of the above reasons, which are apparently contradictory. Add this to the constant downage, bugs, lack of support, and $5 MINIMUM load fee, and I'm questioning why I ever use them...

epassporte is a fucking joke. I ordered my replacement card 4 weeks ago and it still hasn't come in. Yet they conveniently took out $35 from my account. Fucking morons.

as long as epassporte spends all their money on contests on gfy and huge ads with famous people everywhere they can, instead of spending on making their system better, they will always be a shitty service

I have never in my life seen a company that brags about spending as much money as they do on contests and ads, while the customers complain daily

One of my designers is in Russia and I warned him about this weeks ago when it came to light but he said he was fine. Next payment would not go through. So far each time I've paid him it's to a new account or a "friend" of his, which I'm not totally comfortable doing.

Personal accounts from Russia, Vietnam, Moldova, Romania, Lithuania and Ukraine can no longer receive p2p transfers.
The reason: to much fraud from those countries. Common business sense if the majority of fraud comes from a few countries they will be blocked.

Accounts from those countries are still able to receive funds from business accounts, use the electron card and the virtual visa.

A yearly fee of $35 for the Electron card is nothing new, its also stated in the terms when you signed up for ePassporte and/or ordered your Electron card.

Get your facts straight.
The problem started on Tuesday when the contest either started the previous Friday or the following Friday when most people had access to their accounts.

PayPal sucks even worse. And they have a huge list of countries you cant send to.
In most cases the cards are received quickly, sometimes the card gets lost in the mail but if that is the case we simply send a new card.

Sorry no, the maintenance message will show if there is a problem with the bank ePassporte uses.
Its out of ePassporte's hands.
But it should be solved shortly.

Please answer me something Keyser:
So now it's not possible at all again?

Keyser, please tell me why:

(1) the "higher up" epass official first states it's impossible for Russian accounts to receive money only to then say that it was because he has an affiliate account and a personal one would work fine (so she actively encouraged me to tell my producer to get a personal account to receive money) and now you say personal Russian accounts can not receive money.

(2) it is considered high risk even though I've called in and verified everything. Don't you think there should be a way to circumvent the blocks in cases where there's obvious validation?!? There should be a way to call in and add a recipient to some list to whom future transfers would be allowed, regardless of location.

I'm sorry, bro, but I've been with epass for about 3 years, and I've never been impressed. Anytime I have to do even the simplest tasks with my account it's a major hassle. And now this asinine hard-coded rule is holding up a production and forcing me to find another solution. I'm really tired of epass failing me constantly.

I've said it before but I thinks its become "in" to bash ePassporte on GFY if someone has a tiny little problem.
If it's "in" to bash epassporte, don't you think that's an indicator of a MAJOR problem?

russia is full of scamming idiots. good for them for blocking out all of you. if you don't like the way they conduct business, blame it on your scamming 'fellow countrymen' for fucking up business for the rest of the honest folks in your country. For every 1 legit russian bussinesman there are 20 scammers, it's a fact of life, deal with it and find an alternative.

I've asked epassporte a old statement and they never replied. Their customer support really sucks, but it's still a much needed service

Why are you saying "fellow countrymen"?!? I'm US born and bred.
And I'm not faulting them for putting a block up; I'm faulting them for not having enough flexibility to listen to their customers and allowing some usefulness of their service upon manual verification. I'm also faulting them for apparently giving out false information on the phone.

Model perfect - the only way you can send money is to have a business acount. If you donot have that, then you can not send them, even if the guy has a personal account.

I have a personal account and I can not receive p2p payements.

I have a personal account and I have been sending and receiving sporadically for years. I was always told NOT to get a business account, because it's just too much trouble and more restrictions. I'm certainly not an authority on epass, I'm just relaying what I've experienced and have been told. BTW, I'm not trying to keep this thread alive, but since I was addressed personally, I felt compelled to reply...

I've changed my pin. Tried that. ATM, Swipe terminals...not a single one has worked.
