My wife left me and took my son 4 months ago and the divorce paperwork isn't even signed and I've been sending $1400 a month to support my son. He's in private school and I also pay for all of his extra shit.

I have yet to see a child support lawyer but I've been sending money on my own accord and I'm sure it's more than I'd be court ordered to pay.

Lets see - I had two kids(twins - boy and girl), I got divorced while I was in the military so I was docked the 70% maximum that the military allows a divorced wife to get, then for the next 15 years after I got out of the military I paid every fucking week 50% of my pay for child wupport - that never made it to the kids - and sent it directly to her to "avoid processing delays" with "child support" written on every check.
At the end of the 15 years (the end of my committment according to the original order), the bitch goes to court and tells the judge that I never paid my child support, gets an order of garnishment from them, gets the NY tax dept to garnish my savings account all at once, then the judge calls for a hearing.
I drive to NY from Tenn, walk in with every cancelled check with those child support words written on them for 15 years, and her signature on the back,....and the judge says...well ... you didnt send them through the child support division so officially you never paid - so you will have to pay it again...which to keep out of jail, I did - of course none of the original , nor the second time I paid, went to the kids - because she happened to lie about the fact that they were living with her - which they werent - she had put them into foster care

She now goes around to "support groups" in NY teaching other recent divorced wives how to accomplish the same thing

The thing I got out of the whole experience is that you can be the nicest person in the world and try to do everything on the up and up, but in the end life will be what you make of it. After that whole thing, I sat back and decided I was a better person than what I was made out to be (had to have someone kick that part into me) and since then have just lived life like tomorrow is the last day

Second - being a good father and loving husband, I thought when my ex-wife requested the checks sent to her directly to avoid the processing time of one month in NY, I was doing something good for my children - I didnt have a lawyer as I couldnt afford one, so I did what I thought was right

Third - the court didnt know about the fact that she had sent the kids to foster care - she didnt tell them, the investigator for child support wouldnt have any reason to look into it as I didnt bring it up (I didnt know about it at the time), and I can guarantee you that none of the child support agencies in NY talk to each other(they dont have time to piss let alone talk about cases).

I still have every original check that I sent for 15 years - with my exwifes signature on the back cashing the checks - I also have the order that states that since the checks were not sent through (in my case it was called DHS not the term you used) the court, they were not applied as child support but considered as gifts by the judge.

I frankly dont care if you believe my experiences - I know what happened and still have every document ever used in that case - but for me - it was 20 years ago, I know my children know the real story now and actually had a wonderful experience of having my daughter marry a good man and knowing that my children are happy

Why didn't you pay into the system. The "one month" processing might affect the first payment but that is it. Also, why would you ignore a court order? That makes NO sense. Didn't the agency send you past due notices and start collection action? You can't expect anybody to believe that they just ignored your case for 15 years.

Third, you claim she didn't even have the kids? Be more specific. You can't just dump kids into a foster home. At what point do you think she did this? More importantly, you paid 50% of whatever for 15 years and NEVER ONCE VISITED YOUR KIDS? What is that about? All you needed to do was try to see them ONCE and you would have realized that they were in foster care.

What is going on? You are keeping so many details out that I can't help but think you were either in prison or a total fucking drug addict who didn't make any effort to know your own kids. At the end of the 15 years (the end of my committment according to the original order), the bitch goes to court and tells the judge that I never paid my child support, gets an order of garnishment from them, gets the NY tax dept to garnish my savings account all at once, then the judge calls for a hearing. Second - being a good father and loving husband, I thought when my ex-wife requested the checks sent to her directly to avoid the processing time of one month in NY, I was doing something good for my children - I didnt have a lawyer as I couldnt afford one, so I did what I thought was right Third - the court didnt know about the fact that she had sent the kids to foster care - she didnt tell them, the investigator for child support wouldnt have any reason to look into it as I didnt bring it up (I didnt know about it at the time), and I can guarantee you that none of the child support agencies in NY talk to each other(they dont have time to piss let alone talk about cases). I still have every original check that I sent for 15 years - with my exwifes signature on the back cashing the checks - I also have the order that states that since the checks were not sent through (in my case it was called DHS not the term you used) the court, they were not applied as child support but considered as gifts by the judge.
