Fed up with Registerfly - Whos Next?
Registerfly has failed to renew a couple of my domains and I just can't have such problems. Since they also failed to respond to my tickets and I just found that they have changed ownership for a few of my domains to themselves, I'm out of there asap!
Problem is... where do I go next? Godaddy - Supports .xxx Namecheap - Just a reseller? Moniker - $18 for a .com is rather pricy? Netsol - $35 is very pricy Who would you recommend? |

Check out what registerfly told me:
I wrote: Hey... How do I see if a domain is pending or not? I tried to renew www.xxxxxxxx.com, but it says that it is pending. I have tried to renew it some days ago, but nothing happend. Quote:

I had the exact same problem a week ago with registerfly. I tried to renew a couple of domains 10 days before expiration. Usually it's done in 5 minutes after payment. They got expired. After one week, usually they answred my trouble ticket questions about once every 3-4th day or so. They told me to cancel the transfer (?) and order a new renewal. So i did that. Now paid 2 times for each domain and it worked. Dunno if i want this stress next time i want to renew a domain.
I heard good about moniker also but it's double the price. Thats alot if you have many domains.

The reason they were transferring the names is because they used to use other registrars to register some of the domains. Now as people renew their names they are moving them to their own company.
I'll admit it's a bit of a pane in the ass, but I have over 100 names there and haven't lost a single one do to that issue or any other issues. If you lost any domains it's likely because you didn't read your e-mails they sent you and approve the transfers.

i use registerfly too and im about to ditch them as well.
i get an email, daily, saying "renew *****-***.com" but i let it expire like over a month ago. i dont WANT to "renew" it. but i cant block the email addy cuz i need to be alerted of domains about to expire or transfer. also, i had set all of my domains on auto-renewel. last year, they didnt renew a domain cuz my CC didnt approve it (but when i typed it in manually, it went thru). so now my CC doesnt work at ALL with registerfly. arghh. what a nightmare! |

I have had the same issues there... I called tech support and got them all renewed so far... It seems only a few of my domains have this issue, they are doing some change there which is causing certain domains to be held up in the renewal process. Never had an issue like this until about 5-6 months ago...

Moniker are top notch. While I've only been using them for 5 months or so, their service is way, way better then the snaperheads at registerfly. Also you can contact them like I did and get a much lower .com/whatnot reg fee.

Well there are other even worse examples. Registerfly put 73 of my domains on hold in the "redemption status" 2 weeks ago. All those domains had been paid for. 50 of them were even newly registered and paid for only 9 days before.
Last two weeks I have contacted them numerous times on the phone and created ~10 support tickets. They have not yet even explained to me what has happened or why it has happened. They are fucking cheating me of the domains I have paid for and destoying the value and traffic of the 23 sites I had in action. DO NOT EVER USE REGISTERFLY! |
