I will set aside the bickering for a moment and explain this to you:

Here is my reason for doubting the 'experts' you have referred to:
The data they are basing their assumptions on cannot be qualified. There are an unknown number of illegals in the workforce - to form any calculation involving their effect requires them to make a 'guess' as to the number of aliens - and their 'guess' could conceivably be right, but more likely than not is wrong. Guesses about specific numbers with no evidence are seldom right.

Now unless the 'experts' you read prefaced their conclusions with a disqualifier regarding the above, their reports are unlikely to be truly 'objective'. If they are stating unknowns as facts, they are either trying to 'get published' - a very common motivation for professionals trying to get ahead - or they are biased and are likely working the numbers to reach a certain conclusion they want to reach ahead of time.

Either way unless they are mentioning the likely possibility of error because of the unknown variables, I would not trust their assumptions. If they do admit to the possibility of error, then their conclusions cannot be accepted as fact, but merely as another possiblity.

Lacking the ability to accept these assertions as definite fact, I go back to basic economic theories of supply and demand: When an abundance of cheap labor is introduced to the marketplace (think of the employers as the consumers, and the employees as the 'product' for this instance), the demand for employees (product) will drop and the price they command (wages) will drop as well.

Now do you understand that my motivation for doubting this is not based upon ignorance or 'not liking' brown/black/blue/etc people?
