Sources say Steve Nash edged out Kobe and Lebron for MVP.
1) Nash
2) Lebron 3) Bryant You think the racism argument will arise again? Nash is a true point guard, very deserving if the story turns out to be true.

I don't think that's racist at all. Most awards of that nature are subjective.
I think the fact that a black player hasn't won any notable individual awards in the NHL is more racist. /sarcasm |

You must not follow very close...Kobe doesn't make anyone on his team better. Unless you want to count the scoring they do etc...is out of fear Kobe will never pass them the ball that game. The only two players the MVP vote should come down to are Nash and James. |

Nash represents what the league likes right now. He is a great player, but he isn't a champion like Kobe. And he never will be. If he wants a title, he needs to play along side Kobe or Lebron. IMO.

Arizona paper reported it this morning, claiming anon sources.
You guys that come down on Kobe, you should watch him play a bit closer. He may not be well liked, however saying he isn't as good as Lebron or Nash is crazy. Even Lebron admitted that. Look at Lebron's mistakes yesterday. Kobe is a well polished prime time, post season player.

The racist remarks are ridiculous. Nash deserves it. In addition, Kobe and Lebron are seeded to low for the traditional MVP balloting.

Bryant was a dominant, large guard that hit clutch shots. You had to devote attention to him or he shredded you, particularly in the 4th quarter. Go look at Kobe's numbers in the 4th quarter of that dynasty. Then, look at Shaq's 4th quarter free throw misses. Bryant also swung to power forward and reaked havoc on the opposition. He can score at will. The media is finally letting go of the ball hog label, the fans will catch on eventually. Those living in LA really don't label him that anymore.

My pick wasn't Nash, so why are you debating between the two with me? and about your comment about Kobe....James is the only reason Cleveland's in the playoffs and won 50 games...and if he would have taken as many shots as Kobe per game, his points per game would have been the same. What's your next arguement. Kobe will never win an MVP, James will have a collection. He was also build one of the greatest dynastys in NBA history no matter where he plays. LeBron just turned 21 and has already put in 2 season better than any Kobe's put up. |

I'm a huge Suns and Steve Nash fan, but I don't think he should be MVP. It always come back to how you interpret what the MVP means. Just judging on pure talent and skill, Kobe and Lebron definitely should win. I believe the MVP title originally was meant to award the "best" player for that particular year, but after being scrutinized year after year it has come to mean more, "which player made his team better while displaying a high level of skill".
Sure the Suns had a great year even without Amare and that's why Nash has been mentioned for MVP all year. However, anyone who followed the Suns all year would know that Marion was just as vital to their success as Nash. http://www.azcentral.com/sports/chea...2main0413.html I'm not a big Kobe fan, but what he did this year was incredible and its hard for me to believe the Lakers would have won very many games without him. I think if Cleveland would have finished stronger, Lebron would have been the front runner. Oh well, you could make a case for all of them, just comes down to how you interpret the MVP award. |

Come on...

You are being rather presumptious. You are also assuming Bryants accomplishments are going to be a walk in the park for James. Are you giving a superbowl ring to Jimmy Clausen as well? He is regarded as the best QB since Elway in the state of California.

Until someone better comes along someday, James will go down as the greatest player in NBA history when his career's over.
He's already the greatest 18-19-20-21 year old to ever play the game and that's not going to change with his age. |
