I don't know why people think that if it becomes legal "everyone and their dog will start growing it". As soon as it becomes legal then everyone will smoke it? If that's the case then 1. IT should be legal because obviously everyone wants to do it 2. It's not the case, it would not change what so ever.

Let's take a look at countries where it is legal and how well they are doing with it.

Bottom line is, if some one is going to smoke they will smoke. Maybe they should make 'safe smoking sites' for this drug so they can monitor everyone and make sure that they don't OD.. haha..

LEGALIZE IT ALREADY!

I am in California, we started it and got the brute attacks. Oregon has a better system. Though overall keep in mind in no state is it legal even with a card since it is federally illegal. If the federal government wants to prosecute they will and can and no card in no state will help.

Franck I think he is trying to suggest and argue that the data behind saying marijuana ciggerettes are 3-5 times worse for your lungs than tobacco ciggerettes is faulty and has no scientific data to back it up.
Here in the states independant research facilities are not given access to test marijuana's effect in any scientific fashion unless they are government ran studies that will show a negative result or slant.

E Guru, marijuana as a substance is harmless, in fact, it can be benefitial to one's health (notice I used can instead of is). Smoking it on the other hand will produce negative effects on certain organs, namely the lungs.

Franck, you cannot simply deny that marijuana can be useful to some individuals health-wise. Why would the Canadian government establish a medical marijuana program if there's nothing to back up those claims of beneficiality?

Again just like with any substance certain people should not take it and it effects some people differently than others. Some people should not ingest caffine as it makes them jittery or causes headaches, ect.

It depends on a lot of factors. Quality of weed, ratio of cannibinoids, set and setting, frame of mind, etc. Generally a good quality weed smoked at home on your couch *should* help you relax. One time in thousands you might actually start tripping from weed or it can make things worse. Day to day the biological factors change and can produce an unwanted or unusual effect.

Me personally, when I used to smoke years ago, I'd prefer a nice hit off a high % indica to really relax and mellow out. High sativa mixes always made me jumpy.

indeed. weed strongers the mood you're in... when you're happy you'll feel a lot more happy after you smoked and vice versa...

btw weed is indeed fucking bad for your lungs, but as far as I know not addictive...I know tons of people who smoked like crazy and they could quit without a problem...

Its too funny to read the numbers like 3-5 times worse.. Of course it does damage to lungs but we live in so fucked up ecology world, which maybe harms more. And I am not talking about alcohol which is a pure poison for a body.
Just remember your hangover in the morning.. I never had anything close to it after smoke of joint.

I was a heavy weed smoker for 5 years and all problems I got from quiting are 2 weeks of light insomnia.. I couldnt fall asleep that fast as I usualy did..
I didnt smoke for 2 years and now I smoke like 2 times a week or something like this and usually one joint is enought for the whole evening

Yes lets have a moratorium on making any more drugs available to anyone for any reason. Who cares about legit scientific data. We have enough pain meds, anti depressants, heart meds, and other stuff out there already.

Sure marijuana is harmful if you decide to smoke it directly as the delivery mechanism, aside from that it is harmless. Unless of course you have some other issues we do not know about regarding it.
