I immigrated here when I was 11, I came from The Netherlands though (even though I'm not Dutch, I'm asian but I was born in Holland). Anyways, even though I didn't speak English in Holland when I was a kid, for some reason I learned English REALLY REALLY fast.

I don't know if it's exceptional genes or what but I was never in ESL, and after being in America for only 2 MONTHS, I was already in HONORS English. I was one of those really smart people and soon my english was so good that I was doing better than kids who were born here. Some people are just naturally smart.

It doesn't have much to do with the thread but I just wanted to brag how easily I learned English because I never got the chance to brag before!

I don't understand how people can be so retarded and be stuck in ESL for years. After 2 months here I was already in HONORS. And I also got a 4 on my AP exam in history in high school (which was an all written exam), I beat the valedictorian who ended up going to Harvard!!

I think that illegal border crossings are wrong no matter what country people are coming from. The only reason that Mexico comes up in these threads (and I wasn't the one that raised it), is that it is the border with the biggest problem. I think that Canadians that come into the US illegally should be deported, along with Swedes, Japanese, English, Australians, Russians, Argentinians, or ANY people that break our border entry laws...

I have seen here in Miami people from all over the planet that come here, then over stay their VISAs and then disappear. It's wrong, and the US is not wrong for trying to enforce our laws.

There are plenty actually, in states that don't have as many illegals in them. Hell, even here in Miami, where there are plenty of illegal aliens, there are white and black people working in kitchens of resturants that I know the owners of.

Of course the employers have to pay them the legal minimum at least. As opposed to the illegals, that get paid starvation wages.

Americans are very hard working, look at our productivity, weekly work hours and vacation times compared to the rest of the 1st world countries.

Another bull. My house cleaner is illegal and I pay her 60 bucks a week for 2 hour job. They guy that does the yard gets paid 40 bucks. I knew plenty of illegal and they weren?t getting paid 2 dollars an hour.

rants Confirmed User Join Date: Apr 2006 Posts: 654	I immigrated here when I was 11, I came from The Netherlands though (even though I'm not Dutch, I'm asian but I was born in Holland). Anyways, even though I didn't speak English in Holland when I was a kid, for some reason I learned English REALLY REALLY fast. I don't know if it's exceptional genes or what but I was never in ESL, and after being in America for only 2 MONTHS, I was already in HONORS English. I was one of those really smart people and soon my english was so good that I was doing better than kids who were born here. Some people are just naturally smart. It doesn't have much to do with the thread but I just wanted to brag how easily I learned English because I never got the chance to brag before! I don't understand how people can be so retarded and be stuck in ESL for years. After 2 months here I was already in HONORS. And I also got a 4 on my AP exam in history in high school (which was an all written exam), I beat the valedictorian who ended up going to Harvard!!

No American has a problem with legal immigration! I've said this before, and have yet to get an answer.... What gives a Mexican the right to pick another country to go live in, and enter that country at their own will? Just because the Mexican government encourages illegal immigration to the US doesn't mean you have the right to disrespect American immigration laws. If you come here illegally, you are asking for any problems you may face here. I will support illegal Mexican immigration when someone convinces me that they have more of a right to come to the US than people from other countries.
