It really changes your outlook, it's not fire fire fire, adjust aim, fire. Learning how to point shoot was the biggest eye opener for me, and what made me change to carrying polymers more than 45's. I've done so many Mozambiques, I"m afraid that if a real gun fight does break out, I'll do them automatically. Of course, that's why we train.

so far i've only shot within 25 feet with it. next time i goto the range it should be fully broken in and ready for heavy duty shooting. i've only put about 300 rounds through it so far, it was giving me a slight feed problem from the magazine for the first 150 rounds or so, but smoothed out real nice for the next 150. although in all honesty, if i ever have to use it, it will most likely be within 25 feet. i would like to get a full sized .45 1911 soon, now that i have a good carry piece.

I just cannot warm up to the plastic guns though. I have a Beretta 92FS and a Kahr K9 (among other things). Obviously, the Beretta is too large for daily carry, but the I can wear the Kahr all day and not even know I have it on me...and it feels good in your hands... ![]()

I had the same problem. Changed out the clip, soon as I did, feed prob went away. I wouldn't use anything smaller than 4 inches in comps anyway, I forgot my gun that I ususally use, Springfield TRP Operator .45 and used the Kimber.

My usual daily carry.
Springfield XD90 with extended clip, adds about another inch so that my hand can hold it right. ![]()

You have your opinions I have mine.. As far as the statement about taking an SKS into combat, this quote may help.. "Although the SKS was only front-line Soviet issue for two years, it has played a documented role in the two major Cold War conflicts - the Korean War and the Vietnam War [1] - and several subsequent 'dirty wars'. " I personally prefer the machined version over the stamped rifles anyday... As far as stopping power and the two they both fire the exact same round how can there be any difference? All the mods that can be done to an AK can be done to an SKS and most are cheaper to do thus more gun for your money. Not tryin to flame you, like I said we all have our opinions so lets just have a day at the range at the next Miami show, I know a great range. And you can't fault my logic on the .45 issue... Sam Colt all the way! ![]() |

[QUOTE=Kre8t0r]I actually prefer the SKS to both.. For one it's not stamped parts like the AK so it doesn't rattle as much, it also fires the same round as the AK which has way more stopping power than an AR-15's .223 round
[QUOTE] I agree and with a little thought and a bench grinder you can trim down the trigger group for some serious Full Auto action... wait that was what got the Feds so pissed at my back in 95. Nevermind, forget I said that.

I should never have posed for this pic and I know I am going to catch some shit for this but anybody who has seen me shoot knows that every shot of mine was in the white lines. This target was slightly used when I stepped up. If you don't believe me then put your money where your mouth is. I can confidently say that I will outshoot 99.99% of you. ![]() |

And "Technically" speaking....Most veterans of .45's know that the old school way to carry is known as "Cocked and Locked." Meaning that the hammer is back, the round is chambered, and the slide lock is engaged.

You could have assumed these people practiced safe gun handling by checking and unloading the weapons before snapping the pictures. But instead you assumed they are snapping pics of themselves with an unchecked loaded weapon.

Krosh,
Bro, I'm sorry if you think your wide groups will beat me. I'm 2 to 3 inch groups at 25 feet. 5 to 6 at 50 feet. If I need to bring my A game, I'll use a 1911A1.

At the end of the day, my $1400.00 Springfield Armory TRP Operator 1911A1 shoots just as great as my $2500.00 Ed Brown Kobra Karry. If I had the choice I'd take a polymer gun to combat. I carry 3 on and off, GLOCK 30 .45, H&K USP .40, Springfield Armory XD90 You cannot do this with a 1911A1, forget any one that is over a grand, as the tolerances are just to exact. http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=5&f=4&t=13658
