Yo Yo Bill! I hear you, I thought I was really good shooting, till I went tactical. We don't do IPSC exactly, but work out same type of scenearios, with firing on one knee, prone, on side, crab walking, etc.

It really changes your outlook, it's not fire fire fire, adjust aim, fire. Learning how to point shoot was the biggest eye opener for me, and what made me change to carrying polymers more than 45's.

I've done so many Mozambiques, I"m afraid that if a real gun fight does break out, I'll do them automatically.

Of course, that's why we train.

so far i've only shot within 25 feet with it. next time i goto the range it should be fully broken in and ready for heavy duty shooting.

i've only put about 300 rounds through it so far, it was giving me a slight feed problem from the magazine for the first 150 rounds or so, but smoothed out real nice for the next 150.

although in all honesty, if i ever have to use it, it will most likely be within 25 feet.

i would like to get a full sized .45 1911 soon, now that i have a good carry piece.

True enough.

I just cannot warm up to the plastic guns though. I have a Beretta 92FS and a Kahr K9 (among other things). Obviously, the Beretta is too large for daily carry, but the I can wear the Kahr all day and not even know I have it on me...and it feels good in your hands...

FBI stats. Gun fights, within 10 feet, 3 rounds fired by both parties.

I had the same problem. Changed out the clip, soon as I did, feed prob went away.

I wouldn't use anything smaller than 4 inches in comps anyway, I forgot my gun that I ususally use, Springfield TRP Operator .45 and used the Kimber.

My usual daily carry.

Springfield XD90 with extended clip, adds about another inch so that my hand can hold it right.

Either way; AR15 is nice but not that great; M16 is why we lost 'nam. I love my AK! Not to mention the 7.62x35mm round was designed to allow the weapon to retain more energy than the average 7.62 NATO Subsonic round. The round averaged about 330 meters per cycle and the average energy transferred was around 778 Joules plus it was designed to "keyhole" upon contact; instead of burrowing straight into a generally speaking soft target (aka human) upon contact it expands delivering max kenetic energy transfer but it also starts flipping end over end delivering a shredding like wound channel. This increased the damage inflicted. When was the last time you heard of a serious combatant taking an SKS into a fight? Our troups still put their american weapons on the back strap in preference to a true AK. The good man Kalashnikov has invented his vodka in the same fassion he did his weapons. A simple and effective means to a certain end. "My aim was to create armaments to protect the borders of my motherland. It is not my fault that the Kalashnikov became very well known in the world, that it was used in many troubled places. I think the policies of these countries are to blame, not the designers.". Nuff said. I stand by my weapons.

You have your opinions I have mine.. As far as the statement about taking an SKS into combat, this quote may help..

"Although the SKS was only front-line Soviet issue for two years, it has played a documented role in the two major Cold War conflicts - the Korean War and the Vietnam War [1] - and several subsequent 'dirty wars'. "

I personally prefer the machined version over the stamped rifles anyday... As far as stopping power and the two they both fire the exact same round how can there be any difference? All the mods that can be done to an AK can be done to an SKS and most are cheaper to do thus more gun for your money. Not tryin to flame you, like I said we all have our opinions so lets just have a day at the range at the next Miami show, I know a great range.

And you can't fault my logic on the .45 issue... Sam Colt all the way!

I shot that gun a couple weeks ago. Hated it. It had the worst trigger I had ever seen. And the slide would fall foward with the slightest bump of the gun. Maybe it was because it was a heavily used gun, but man, I'll never buy one of those now.

[QUOTE=Kre8t0r]I actually prefer the SKS to both.. For one it's not stamped parts like the AK so it doesn't rattle as much, it also fires the same round as the AK which has way more stopping power than an AR-15's .223 round
[QUOTE]

I agree and with a little thought and a bench grinder you can trim down the trigger group for some serious Full Auto action... wait that was what got the Feds so pissed at my back in 95. Nevermind, forget I said that.

I should never have posed for this pic and I know I am going to catch some shit for this but anybody who has seen me shoot knows that every shot of mine was in the white lines. This target was slightly used when I stepped up.

If you don't believe me then put your money where your mouth is. I can confidently say that I will outshoot 99.99% of you.

Seems to me the stupid person is the one who is not noticing that Anthony took his own pic by holding the camera out and mine was taken with a tripod and a timer.

And "Technically" speaking....Most veterans of .45's know that the old school way to carry is known as "Cocked and Locked." Meaning that the hammer is back, the round is chambered, and the slide lock is engaged.

Well I may have 'jumped the gun' but its still stupid to have it loaded unless youre at the range or ready to shoot something. Growing up my whole life around guns, ive learned alot of respect for them.

Veterans of the 45? ooooK! ...wth is a slide lock going to do if the round is already chambered and hammer cocked? Keep the slide from ejecting the shell? ...only slide lock I know of is to keep the slide BACK, like after the clip is empty. Enlighten me here, please.

Here's an example of somebody who doesn't know WTF they are doing with a firearm.

My bad with the terminology. I was referring to cocked and locked with the thumb safety as demonstrated here.

How can you even call people stupid on an assumption. You have no idea wether those weapons were loaded in the pics.

You could have assumed these people practiced safe gun handling by checking and unloading the weapons before snapping the pictures. But instead you assumed they are snapping pics of themselves with an unchecked loaded weapon.

Yeah, it's not like you can actually SEE the bullet in the chamber.

Krosh,

Bro, I'm sorry if you think your wide groups will beat me. I'm 2 to 3 inch groups at 25 feet. 5 to 6 at 50 feet.

If I need to bring my A game, I'll use a 1911A1.

The target I have posted was shot with a very used and rented 9mm. You would not believe the grouping I am getting out of that Kimber.....Hell, even I don't really believe it.

i got bigger guns than that.. russian ak-47 with five hundred shot banana clips loaded with cross-haired hollow points (shit will bust through 5 bullet proof vests stacked together) with a shell catcher and infrared beam just like the one you got but more accurate ;)

Big Al's Guns is right down the street from AVN Fla.

We can settle this anytime before the show!

If you can find one pic of me with my finger in the well, I'll give you a grand.

If you don't, you pay me?

Bet, or Stfu?

Wilson's are great 1911's. Really when you are at the 2 grand limit, for Wilson's, Black Hawk, Rock River, Ed Brown, et al. it is all customization.

At the end of the day, my $1400.00 Springfield Armory TRP Operator 1911A1 shoots just as great as my $2500.00 Ed Brown Kobra Karry.

If I had the choice I'd take a polymer gun to combat.

I carry 3 on and off, GLOCK 30 .45, H&K USP .40, Springfield Armory XD90

You cannot do this with a 1911A1, forget any one that is over a grand, as the tolerances are just to exact.
