We checked! Now they have made us lose 2 dmoz listings. Webair is no good, they have pissed us off. We simply told them, and we just found out today they put us on a spammed ip.

I'm not positive, but I think if you run a whois.sc, and it shows as blacklisted, that indicates that the IP has been penalized for spamming.

Ask them to move your domain to a different IP ... surely they should be able to easily do that ... well unless all their available IPs are blacklisted ... if that's the case, then demand a refund.

In the future, trust but verify ... find out what IPs are going to be assigned before-hand and verify them yourself.

Good luck.

Ron

Mike doesnt mess around with his help guys. He hires them to take care of your problems. If they arent taking care of your probems, you need to email him the chat transcripts, and say something to him. Dont bring it to the boards. Those guys are commited to try to bring you the best hosting possible. Everybody comes up short sometimes, and you cant always make everyone happy.

anyways, dont use the chat help. Especially, if you have a hard time typing english. Your better off calling this number...

1.866.WEBAIR1 ext. 5

You WILL get some on the line, right then and there, and they WILL take care of you Johnny on the spot~~!

Something says this is just an attempt to stir drama.
If you are dealing with Dmoz listings you always do a search on a new host and would know what kind of shit (webari) you are dealing with.

ya know what, if you would call Mike, and tell him your situation, he might try and even compensate you, if they fucked up.

ya know its a hosting company...sometimes they make mistakes.
I had a problem with a maintream site, getting redirected to a porn site once. was I happy about it??? Hell no. Did they fix the problem, when i called??

Dont bring it to the boards.

Why not? It think it's actually a good idea to bring this to the borads. This way webmasters can see what a clusterfuck webair is and avoid getting screwed over.

yea, i was wondering the same thing.

thats what makes this thread seem fabricated, and the fact that they havent called them on the phone to talk to them.
I get someone on the line everytime, and they always take care of me right away.

im not kissing ass, I just give credit, where its due, and I know from experience, that those guys dont work like that.

dmoz listings are not the end of the world, Ive never owned one in my life, and im doing just fine. Also, that person should read the fine print.....on ANY hosting company agreement.....the part where, the hosting company isnt responsible for your losses on things like that.

That's 100% untrue. Lately, this past week I've been suffering some issues with some things. I never once ever had any problems with contacting them.
Every support ticket was responded to & every email was answered. every time I used the live help, someone answers, though if it's late night or early am, you need to wait a few minutes, and even today the phone was immediately answered. I have a measly virual account for $20 a month & these guys bend over fucking backwards to make sure my sites stay up!

I have been a customer of theirs since september, & sure once in a while, but thank god not often, sometimes thing go wrong. That can be expected with any hosting company. Sure I'd like less problems, but I'm not gonna move to not have these issues, solely because I don't want to sacrifice the tech help & support. They work hard, they take shit & don't complain about it & they DO take very good care of me.

Every time I have picked up the phone they answered and fixed everything right away.

My only bitch with them was their affiliate program.

I have a few personal accounts with them and as I stated before I have brought clients to them and all have been happy.

While a Dmoz listing may not brong you a volume of traffic it is a huge help in SEO as a top ranked IBL (in bound link) and should never be discounted.

Since WebAir is a SPAMHAUS, that is not surprising.

Simple research would reveal.... http://www.spamhaus.org/SBL/listings...isp=webair.com

They value their high dollar SPAMMERS more than you.

You prolly lost the dmoz listing for a site undercontruction.
I would suggest emailing Mike directly before taking things to a message board. You will do alot better in this business if you treat your host like a partner not the enemy.

When something goes wrong at 4am, do you think the host that you just flamed on a message board is going to be rushing out of bed to fix your shit or help his 24 /7 support staff get you back up and running..

I've never been on a banned IP but I don't see the correlation between a SE (dmoz in this case) and an email spammer? I could see if the IP was used for SE spam, but this seems to be email spam in this case?

Most hosting company host spammers
bud, dont be duped by some referrals.

you need to test them actually, before committing.
that can be said to some biz companies out there also
good luck!

Well, we got it resolved. I was just pissed off, they better treat us right, we have a virtual and dedicated with them.
