Our friendly attorney once told me that you don't know you really
made it until you get sued. With over 100 million registered members,
there's always going to be someone who gets upset. Fortunately, the law
has been on our side. Also, we've never had to sue an affiliate.

We talk more in terms of registered members - Adult Friend Finder,
the network of personals sites and cams.com sign up over 160,000 people
each day. One of the neat things about so much activity on the sites
is that the energy it produces rocks the conversion rates. There's
about 20 million active members on Adult Friend Finder alone. Last
time I checked, we had over 300K affiliates registered - with a great
team of about 20 who help support them. All in all, it takes about
300 people to keep the site rolling.

to do the rest of my life - bricklaying, barn building, roofing, dish washing,

someday I'll teach another course.

The adult industry is filled with talented people, start of the art
technology, and financial resources which can be repurposed to help
all sorts of people. There are so many non-profit companies that
can't afford custom website development and the latest technologies.
I recently funded a non-profit company to help micro-fund integration
developers to reuse development efforts from the adult world to
mainstream (among other projects). For example, software for a webcam
website could be reused to provide remote tutoring (think low cost
homework helpers in India or volunteers broadcasting), handle a suicide
hotline where people can actually see the people helping others, or other
situations where a group wants to make experts available. An online dating
site could be repurposed to match volunteers with needs or to organize
support networks for at-risk people. An SMS chat system can be reused to
send out homework reminders to parents. The basic assumption is that
there are huge economies of scale when it comes to building websites -
the repurposing of technologies is often considerably cheaper than the
original development. While the company is in the formative stage, we
will be taking proposals and funding a number of projects this year.

A personal question if you don't mind:
Have you ever felt sorry that you are in the middle of FF and not living a normal life without all the hard work?

Andrew, cheers to you on your success. You deserve every bit of it.

Sleazy, I'm definitely a huge fan of your Ambush interviews and this is by far the greatest. However, I propose that you choose another individual to help prepare the questions. Two minds are better than one. I've seen some great questions asked in this thread.

I think it's natural to fantasize about living a different type of life -
just ask the tens of millions of people lining up to play powerball.
But it's hard to think up another adventure that has the same level
of intellectual stimulation as running a service for tens of millions.
Most entrepreneurs who get out of business go crazy and get back
in shortly after... just watch the Godfather...

met many women on the sites but haven't yet given up my single ways.

We're always looking at the options. As you know, there are just a few pure-play
adult companies that have gone public most with mixed results. The times are changing
though - with google, yahoo, microsoft, disney, viacom, comcast, etc making more
revenue from adult content than most adult companies, the public markets are
becoming more embracing. GFY will be one of the first to know. What's
your thoughts? Think the public is ready to invest in another adult company?

We've been in acquistion mode recently - picking up a big private label dating
network that enables us to be much more flexible for custom deals - see FastCupid.com
and the merger with Streamray. We have a number of big deals in play for this
year in both the adult and mainstream markets. If you are interested in joining
the network or an acquistion, send email to 'bizdev at friendfinderinc.com'.

Great Interview so far..

I have started to see more and more dating advertisements showing up on TV, Match.com, Love Line, and E-harmony. Do you ever plan on advertising any of the FriendFinder sites on Television?

I'm waiting to see Lars' face popup during the Super Bowl with a FF commercial.

Well the real "public" who invests are mutal funds...
The most important for an IPO is the size of the company, as many funds don't like to invest their money in more then 100 companies and at the same time never buy more then 10% of shares... So to get attention of mutual funds the company must be about 1 billion worth, as the budget of most of these fonds is around 1 billion.

Making an IPO is the thing that can revolt the company by providing it with capital to aquaire other companies. So if you have a chance...
Well... sure you have a financial advisor

I actually talk to and take questions on the person being ambushed on average - from about 5 people. Some more and some less. I talk to their friends and business associates to get the dirt. I could ask more questions but I try and keep them to 30-35 specifically cause that's a LOT of questions to ask and as most that have been ambushed have told me it's a LOT of work and I don't want to make it too much work. I usually have in excess of 50 questions for most people that are ambushed - 70+ for andrew, but I try and choose those that I feel would give the most insight, past, and enjoyment to answer so i pick what i feel are the best ones.

for andrew I believe discussed with and got questions from

Lars, Sagi, Betsy, Lesbodojo, Sean, Stuntpig, myself and of course Andrew himself.

hopefully I'm not forgetting someone.

what Eservices2k3 is nicely saying is you could use help in the question dept ie; better questions, because your choice of questions arent that great.

maybe focus 2/3 on business and a 1/3 on personal.

The big difference is that "legendary" Lars was wizard of his own sites
before we merged. Promotion and delivering on promises is what he's all
about - it's energizing to work with him on projects for both Streamray (cams.com)
and the Friend Finder network. While we're both in California, he works
several time zones ahead so his torrent of IMs is the first thing I get
every morning. Our different personality types make a great team.

WOW. Mad props

I'm happy to answer more biz related questions - just don't want to
disrupt Sleazy's forum. Hope he doesn't kill me... but I guess people
can email him questions you'd like me to answer/dodge.

see there;s where you show you lack of IQ - ambush interview's NEVER been mainly about the business questions. it's ALWAYS been 2/3 personal and was meant to be that from the start. It's what makes the interview relevant for years to come as well as a resourse. Business changes day to day - your past is always there. That's what it's about and I try to talk about.

it's ABOUT the people, NOT the business - and how they got to what they are - background on WHO they are - to give people that read it an opportunity to humanize the people behind the scenes and find common ground to talk to them about when they meet them and for those that already know them.

Geez, who invited the trolls to the party?

Tell ya what all you geniuses who think Scott needs help running the interviews. How many of the people that have been interviewed do you know on a first name basis AND would take time out of their lives to answer your interview questions? (or even return your phone calls for that matter)

When you have the contact list that he has, then you have room to criticize. Until then you're just a nobody troll hiding behind a screen name, so STFU

Easy killer, with someone of Andrew's success ... some of us are just trying to get a more behind the scenes look at BOTH personal and business...and it doesn't seem anyone can get enough!

This thread has people doing math/logic, working on weekends, what next?!?

actually i've lost over 100lbs in the last year and I'd bet money I can bench press more then you and am probally in better cardovascular shape then you. but like I said - you don't know your ass from a hole in the ground.

keep making fun of my weight please - most idiots revert to that once they have no other ammo. It's like a flashing neon sign on your forhead that says you can't compete anymore on an intelligent level so you revert to grade seven insults.

I totally agree with you, I'm very intrigued by this interview myself.

My remarks were directed at the people telling Sleazy his questions sucked and he needed help with them.

In most ambushes people ask a few of their own questions, but for one person to ask a dozen questions (some of which are redundant), and then criticize the person who put the interview together is just ridiculous.

Lenny, please re-read my comment. I did not say his questions sucked. I was under the impression that he came up with all the questions himself and I suggested he should have other people assist. It appears he does, so I stand I corrected.
