I thought it would make a really neat pool house, but I was wondering about hooking up the shitter and electrics. You can't just flush the toilet on the roof of a building, and I certainly wouldn't do it on my lawn.

As the site actually says. It would require the "roof top" or other location to have utility lines ran or available.
Basicly would work the same as an RV hookup. You would hook up septic and a fresh water line, then plug in to an electical source.

applications are not so much important as concept and feel of the space... if you live in a trailor home and feel somehow socially connected with such a dwelling then yes your initial reaction would be that is it indeed a glorified trailer home.

The application I have in mind... I just bought some land overlooking the ocean in CostaRica *Mal Pais to be exact*

Its not the type of house you drop in your suburban area.. its something you buy to get excited about.. like a ferrari for others... its rather impractical you can't drive it very far...you just feel cool when you buy one.

Looks like a box thrown together by a bunch of guys who have never done anything like this before.

I realize it's a new concept, but I'm not sure I'd want to be the guy that finds out these cubes don't hold up in gale force winds or that the roof leaks ever time it rains. At least the rock floor wil dry quickly.
