It seem the guy new a little BJJ with some wrestling although it was very effective.

I'm no longer into fighting but from experience I have seen that a guy that can take a hit and grapple generally ends up on top.

My brother avoids fights the best he can but when he gets in them I rarely see him lose. He manages to put some sort of sleeper/choke hold on just about everyone that tries to fuck with him. Fights over in 15 seconds or less.

All stupid shit anyway unless its a sanctioned event.

Then, he would be MMA, meaning, to learn how to defeat a grappler is become one. Pretty simple, and it's what everyone has done in MMA.

Mirko Cro Cop is a prime example of a striker that has learned BJJ, and has an awesome Sprawl and Brawl.

It would also take longer than some weeks. try a year or so. Boxing aint' shit compared to learning grappling.

The effectiveness of using grappling techniques is obvious, too bad it just looks so damned gay. Two guys laying on the ring floor with their legs wrapped around each other twisting and gyrating. Yeah.

Might be more effective (in many cases), but I'd so rather watch kickboxing any day of the week.

You have 0 clue what you are talking about. The guy wasn't "exhausted and harmless" he could have beaten every one of them one at a time in a row without being "exhausted and harmless". He was yelling because he had the guy right where he wanted him for a second time and they were trying to stand it back up. It's all about getting close, limiting the damage they can do by punching, and controlling every aspect of the fight. I would have told them the same thing.

Like CD said it's a damn shame the best fighting techniques look the worst but I guess that's good or everyone would be doing it. I don't know BJJ but I grew up with many of the same principles given to me. If someone was giving me shit I would cry tears of joy if they got in a boxing stance.

I'd rather watch MMA, most fights end up on the ground, whoever cannot move on the ground usually loses.. I've lost myself to people who can move better on the ground, they were a better fighter...

Last ground beef I had I was pretty much even aside from me breaking a $400 watch.. the dude was tough on the ground too and we both pinned each other at points, but It turned when he had me in a headlock and I was able to swing up and hit him in his head about 10 times and he let go. After that my club security friends came and pulled us apart..

1. I will show you about 3 or 4 proven escapes to the dreaded headlock that uses no stength, just leverage.

2. I had no idea you were into MMA, we really need to spend more time chilling next time not in a club with naked girilies near us.
