Why Grapplers will beat strikers 9 outta 10
|
Because they like to hump them into submission?
|
Edge you might wanna update your sig (jan 15th).. :D
|
It seem the guy new a little BJJ with some wrestling although it was very effective.
It is kinda of funny that people where yelling no choking allowed. Fucked that.... I would have wrapped him up in a Peruvian necktie. |

lmao..... oops :1orglaugh That's what I get for being a lazy bastard...... Thanks for the heads-up who :thumbsup :pimp |

Though, single and double leg takedowns are staples of BJJ. :) "Man, stop grappling!" HAHAHA So many places for armbars during that fight, but choking a bitch out till they shit themselves is the way to go. |
hehe i like it

Ok, that sig msg should work for now :1orglaugh :winkwink: |

Nah, I was watching Dodgeball when I fell asleep last night and now I can't get that line (about "humping them into submission") out of my damn head :Oh crap :1orglaugh |
As in all things - no single tool is sufficient for every situation. wasn't it Bruce Lee who said something like 'absorb what works, discard everything else'
|
heheh that guy was definitely using the ground 'n pound... and nice use of the headbutt when necessary.

so which one of those ladies was the striker? :Oh crap

Or better, the one getting the shit ground and pounded out him, also the one crying about not wanting to be choked out at the end. BJJ RULES! |

Agreed....... loved the hollow thud you hear on the 1st headbutt..... NICE :thumbsup |
also, funny to see all those "gangsta" trying to seperate the 2 fighters and then pussying out after the kid on top, exhausted and harmless, screamed his rage...

added... I did make the post 9 outta 10, giving the striker "A puncher's chance". :) |
I'm no longer into fighting but from experience I have seen that a guy that can take a hit and grapple generally ends up on top.
My brother avoids fights the best he can but when he gets in them I rarely see him lose. He manages to put some sort of sleeper/choke hold on just about everyone that tries to fuck with him. Fights over in 15 seconds or less. All stupid shit anyway unless its a sanctioned event. |
Ok.. im lost.. whats bjj?

graplers will win 9 of 10 times cuz they eliminate the opponents advantage by taking them to the ground, and making it a close quarter movement fight, you move the opponent where you want them, then beat the snot out of their head..

I'll tell you this.. get Floyd Mayweather.. train him to counter punch any legg attack from a grappler... (no one quicker than Floyd) ..train him for couple of weeks against grapplers... and im putting my money on him against anyone of his size....
:thumbsup |

Then, he would be MMA, meaning, to learn how to defeat a grappler is become one. Pretty simple, and it's what everyone has done in MMA. Mirko Cro Cop is a prime example of a striker that has learned BJJ, and has an awesome Sprawl and Brawl. :) It would also take longer than some weeks. try a year or so. Boxing aint' shit compared to learning grappling. |
The effectiveness of using grappling techniques is obvious, too bad it just looks so damned gay. Two guys laying on the ring floor with their legs wrapped around each other twisting and gyrating. Yeah.
Might be more effective (in many cases), but I'd so rather watch kickboxing any day of the week. |

As far as top boxers beating BJJ guys you are fucking lost. There is a reason boxers stay in the ring, with gloves and a ref. There is also a reason they can't kick, tackle, or anything else. Straight boxing is the pussiest of all fights and you try to compare them to MMA fighters? :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh |
I don't know if anyone cares or not...
ROYCE GRACIE will be fighitng the current UFC CHAMP MATT HUGHES next UFC! |

No shit! What do you think the guys over at K-1 are doing? Some of the best strikers in the world are converting to MMA. |
I'd rather watch MMA, most fights end up on the ground, whoever cannot move on the ground usually loses.. I've lost myself to people who can move better on the ground, they were a better fighter...
Last ground beef I had I was pretty much even aside from me breaking a $400 watch.. the dude was tough on the ground too and we both pinned each other at points, but It turned when he had me in a headlock and I was able to swing up and hit him in his head about 10 times and he let go. After that my club security friends came and pulled us apart.. |

1. I will show you about 3 or 4 proven escapes to the dreaded headlock that uses no stength, just leverage. 2. I had no idea you were into MMA, we really need to spend more time chilling next time not in a club with naked girilies near us. :) |
