The only election glitch in Eastern Canada came at a polling station in New Glasgow, N.S., when a man took off with a ballot box.
Just after noon, the man ran into a polling station in the town's stadium and tried to grab two boxes. An election official snatched one, but the man made it out with the other one under his arm. "The suspect actually went to the parking area, placed the box down on the ground and actually used his own personal vehicle [and] drove over the Elections Canada box," said Const. Ken MacDonald of New Glasgow police. The man sped away. However, officers picked him a little while later. Although the box was flattened, no ballots were destroyed. Scrutineers watched as the deputy returning officer transferred all of the ballots into a new box. I wonder who he was pissed off at.. |

*whew* it is a minority government. I didn't care who won as long as it wasn't a majority.

On the political side, both conservatives and liberals are a bunch of self-serving elitist twats, at least here they are, and regardless of who gets voted in, in most Western countries, the end policies result in almost completely the same thing. Personally I tend to favor populist parties (i.e. nationalist and such) as they tend to shake things up a little and atleast shake some sense into a totally disconnected Government. Of course in Australia, and I geuss Canada, these parties don't have much hope, but it is positive to see their influence and strength in Europe is growing, and even without direct power many of their policies are being adopted by the ruling parties out of fear. |

what does that have to do with import/export? |

As a kid, your ignorance cannot be held against you because you simply do not know any better. You do not know what life is all about because you have not experienced life yet. Until you get some experience you will make ignorant statements like the one above because you think it is cool and makes you look like a hard ass or something. The reality is it makes you look like an idiot, but you are too young to know that yet. The point is you are too young to know what it is like to have a family relying on you for support. You don't know what it is like to have kids and a mortgage hanging over your head. What happens if you have an accident and can't work anymore? What happens to your kids? Everybody just gets thrown out onto the street? This is exactly the point. You cannot possibly have any empathy for people in this situation because you are still a child. And you will not understand this post because you are still a child. It's not your fault. One day you will grow up. Hopefully nothing will happen in your life to make you eat your words. |
Manga: You made your point, I really doubt you could have tried to be any more belittling. Good job "big boy".

by removing that, they needed a way to get that 14% somehow from taxes 7% became a goods tax, and 7 for services |

The 7% Goods and Services Tax (GST) is a relatively new tax that came into effect in Canada on January 1, 1991. It replaced the out-dated 13.5% Manufacturers? Sales Tax (MST), which had been in effect since 1924. http://canadianeconomy.gc.ca/english...y/1991gst.html I use to get charged for that .I t was a real pain. GST is a more appropriate tax. |
