Im pretty sure the 'distribution' of scanned currency in color, and ready to print would be considered quite illegal. Pretty sure it would fall under other laws too. Why dont you print a few copies out and go down to your local fbi office and ask about the legality of it all. Report back to us your findings.

You can feel free to print those bills out, or save the images to a disk and go check with the Fbi also. If you all are sooo sure its legal.

While you may be pretty sure, I am 100% sure, see there is the difference between someone who knows what he is talking about, and someone who is pretty sure they are.

And if I went to the FBI they would tell me to go see the Secret Service, cuz the FBI doesn't handle that. And when I went to see the Secret Service, they would say "Didn't you read what it said on our website? It's pretty clear for you on there, or can't you read?"

You might want to include the ENTIRE sentence that you're using to back up your claims - from the link you posted:

Quote:
Printed reproductions, including photographs of paper currency, checks, bonds, postage stamps, revenue stamps, and securities of the United States and foreign governments (except under the conditions previously listed) are violations of Title 18, Section 474 of the United States Code. Violations are punishable by fines of up to $5,000, or 15 years imprisonment, or both.
That's "Printed reproductions, including photographs of paper currency". Means something completely different if you don't include all the big words

If you're so keen to stess the illegality of this, why are you also advocating the use of torrent sites for the illegal distribution and copying of copyrighted material in this thread?

See the problem is, he thinks that picture on the interweb are photographs. He doesn't realize a photograph is an actual thing.

Most cities dont have a local Secret service office. They normally do have an FBI office though.

Btw digital media is considered a photograph.

Dude, you are seriously mentally incompetent.

I don't even know to respond to this it's beyond stupid. ok,ok, ok, so what you are saying is that since a photograph is a "picture" or likeness obtained by PHOTOGRAPHY, that somehow this leads you to believe that a picture and a photograph are the same thing? Why not post the definitiion of "likeness" too?

It's the FUCKING SECRET SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOT THE FBI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !

Secret Service, United States, a law enforcement division (since 2003) of the Dept. of Homeland Security. It was established in 1865 in the the Dept. of the Treasury to investigate and prevent counterfeiting of currency, officially becoming a distinct organization within the department in 1883. The Secret Service enforces federal laws relating to currency, coins, obligations, and the securities of the United States and foreign governments, including forgery and fraudulent electronic transfer.

Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), division of the U.S. Dept. of Justice charged with investigating all violations of federal laws except those assigned to some other federal agency....nuff said.

7-11 is closer than the FBI, why not just go there? At least you could pick up a Slurpy.
