Art Bell's wife passed away.

Don't know how many of you ever listened to Coast To Coast AM with Art Bell over the years, but whether you liked him or not, you gotta pay respect cause his beloved wife passed away the yesterday. He really loved her. He spoke about her all the time. She was young too. 47 they say.

I really feel for the dude cause they hadn't been away from each other for 15 years the story says. Not one day separated.

I'm praying he pulls through from this because he revolutionized radio, short wave, to name a few.

How could you not know Art Bell?

His show was in the top 4 for years with Stern, Dr. Laura, and that dumbass Rush Limbaugh. Art Bell is an unusual independent freedom loving radio star.

If you would stop bullshitting on GFY, you would realize there is a big world waiting for you.

Art Bell left radio several times. Nothing this serious has ever happened to him. He cut back from a weekly show to weekends, and then to Sunday evening. He built his own radio station close to Las Vegas. I'm betting the death of his wife will lead to another exit from radio..........OUR LOSS. He became a millionaire with his syndicated radio show.

His son being molested by that teacher I think would qualify as serious.

Did it really happen? There was so much controversy behind that story that nobody got the truth. Art was ready for a break during that time period. He is a strange man, for sure, but very talented. He lives in the desert...listens to his own drum, and is a big amateur radio ham.

I enjoy the hell out of him. His competition is nothing compared to him.

Haven't listened to him in years since he took a break during that time.

It just seemed like when he came back it was never the same, so I don't know what the conclusion of that story was.

It is bad enough when a loved one or friend is very ill, and the doctors tell you death is near. But Art's wife was a healthy woman. Art was the one who disappeared for months because of his bad back. Ramona (wife) took care of him. With all of Art's connections and money, he couldn't get rid of his back pain. He left radio Then he came back......again. He said that he lost weight, stopped smoking, and was exercising, and he was feeling a lot better.

I thought the *bad back* excuse was bogus. Why would sitting in your favorite chair at your own private radio station be any more painful than talking on ham radio in the same chair for hours. I got his ham radio signal in the Los Angeles area, loud and clear. He sounded just fine. Art Bell was/is the equivalent of GFY's drama queen, juicy, only Art Bell has lots of talent.

Art Bell started out with a limited audience, and he talked about aliens nonstop. Then his guest list grew, and I have heard brilliant conversations. I have heard Art Bell hang up on those he thought were frauds. He has concentrated more and more on the *after life,* and if he comes back to radio or if he doesn't, he will be channeling and trying to make contact with his beloved wife.

You never know when your number is up. So instead of living on porn boards, do yourself a favor and spend that time with those you love, and find something useful to do with your life

MicroChick, you won't believe it but for YEARS I worked on an online magazine with Art Bell. We would do his nightly chats and would pitch ideas and guests. Both times he semi-retired it was during 'my' shift. He would come into my chat while we were on the air and then that night, bam, he would retire.

People around the world owe him their lives a dozen times over as he's exposed crook after crook after fraud after murderer etc. Sort of if Batman had a radio show at night.

We had a kick ass team of researchers and we would go after crooks like no tomorrow. Put the fear of God into the military-industrial complex gangsters.

He and his wife Ramona were like the Johnny Cash & June Carter-Cash of radio, conspiracy theories, paranormal stuff. He really, really loved that woman no-end. Can you imagine being married for 15 years and NEVER spending a day apart??? They was glued.

She had a beautiful voice. I mean Ramona had a BEAUTIFUL voice. I would nag Art to put Ramona on with him more. She really carried over the airwaves and even if you had rotten speakers she STILL sounded glorious.

Asthma is no joke. I'm just not willing to accept she is gone so soon.

I didn't give Art enough credit in those early years. I was introduced to him by ham radio users in Southern California. They loved Art. I couldn't understand what they liked.......Uhhhhhh, what did I know !! I found x-rated ham radio in the wee hours of the morning, and that is when I listened to Howard Stern and Art Bell. For some reason, all three forms of radio calmed me down and put me to sleep.

You were lucky to work in an Art Bell environment. I felt like I lost a family member when Ramona died. Art has this big crush on Crystal Gayle, the country singer with the long hair. She even wrote a song for his show. If she is single or even if she's married, I bet she was on the phone immediately to console him. In fact, I am writing to him to give him my best wishes. I feel very lucky that I have heard him and his guests as frequently as I have.

Good for you MicroChick. We don't know if Art will do his show this month. He only does 2 Sunday shows. It's funny but Crystal Gale and I are distant-distant cousins. Cherokee line. That song she wrote for him kicks ass!

What this all teaches me is you gotta watch your medical stuff. We only know from the website she had an asthma attack but the final results won't be in for a week or more. If it was something like mold or aspartame that triggered that attack you can bet ol' Art will go into them with both knee caps.
