BTW although this site looks like BS, hypnosis isn't: it stopped my brother smoking permanently and it worked for me, albeit only for a few years. Not only was it effective as other aids were not, but I suffered zero withdrawal symptoms. Overall, hypnosis is apparently only about as effective as the other stop-smoking aids (ie not very effective at all), but I suspect the results would be better if it were not that you need to find a hypnotist who works for you and I'm sure many give up after one try. The woman who my brother visited (he also sees her before every visit to his dentist) did me no good at all, but the next hypnotist produced exactly the results I wanted.

I don't know where you get your "proven fact" from, but hypnosis has worked for many people in many different situations. If you want to get tricky about how/why it works and claim that doesn't really amount to hypnosis, I might possibly agree with you. Well, I don't mean to argue with you about it - but... hypnosis is just like a ouija board - it only works because you want it to work. People believe they need some type of external to make them achieve the desired end result.

If you need proof I suggest google. There is a TON of research that proves that adult vocabularly is used in so called "regression" into childhood, that weightloss and quitting of smoking is only achieved by previously motivated people who needed to lose responsibility for themselves and instead blame it on a mystical notion called "hypnosis".

So, in your case Jayeff, you prolly are just in this last category.

Are you also a fan of tony robbins, et al?

Hypnosis does work. However I think that the public has a wrong image of Hypnosis mostly from TV's representation of it.

Hypnosis can be used for any effect. Look you can get addicted to just about anything. If someone feels as though their life is overrun by anything they should seek help. Obsessive and Compuslive behaviors are destructive regardless of what the obsession or compulsions may be.
