BTW although this site looks like BS, hypnosis isn't: it stopped my brother smoking permanently and it worked for me, albeit only for a few years. Not only was it effective as other aids were not, but I suffered zero withdrawal symptoms. Overall, hypnosis is apparently only about as effective as the other stop-smoking aids (ie not very effective at all), but I suspect the results would be better if it were not that you need to find a hypnotist who works for you and I'm sure many give up after one try. The woman who my brother visited (he also sees her before every visit to his dentist) did me no good at all, but the next hypnotist produced exactly the results I wanted.
