What is your goal of saving up money by new years?
how much do you want to have saved up by new years?
it's also interesting to know how most webmasters use their money... does the average webmaster spend it or coke and whores? or save it well in order to invest it? let's talk about it! |

think about the future! buy a building... and lets say it doesnt even increase in value, just find tenants to pay your mortgage + a few bucks for other problems for 30 years... in 30 years, you make 10X your downpayment money, 33.3% income per year on your money, not many banks give you that ![]() |

Honestly, I don't spend money and I live very cheaply, still living in the same old student apartment. I never have seen the need to really enjoy in the luxuries I could get with the savings I've made and I'm just letting it grow for now.

I'll put the maximum in my IRA for tax deduction purposes, put a little extra towards my mortgage to knock a year or two off my loan, and keep some in savings for emergencies.

The M3 actually looks really good, even if it convertible. Just seems odd to get a convertible with Montreal's winters, lol.

WiredGuy, how old are you?
I too still live in my student room even though I could easily afford much more. I don't spend much but when I buy the regular things I have to buy I don't really pay attention to the price. I use most money for re-investments. |

The only SUV's that are really appealing to me are unfortunately the monster gas guzzlers like the Escalade or Navigator. But with gas prices as they are now, screw that! WG

Still, WG, money is not made only to be saved. What matters in the end is your well-being...
Btw, living in a much bigger place isn't necessarily much more costly. |

I'm finding that the older I get (I'll be 34 on the 11th), the less I spend. I actually enjoy being somewhat frugal and saving every penny I can for investments or business expansion. I guess after years of accumulation, my needs are diminishing.
I don't have a terribly expensive home, but it is in a prime location across the street from Lake Michigan. I built it in 1993 for $192,000 and paid it off within 10 years. It was recently appraised at $345,000 so my only real personal liabilities are insurance, taxes, and general living expenses. |

Yeah, I know, but there's one thing I absolutely hate with a passion is moving. Once I do get a house I want to stay there for a couple years at least. Even with movers, the idea of moving is something I detest. Being a coop student, I moved at least 10 times in 4 years and that was a for 1 bedroom. The idea of moving a much larger amount of furniture and my business is something I'd like to avoid. WG
