Need a merchant solution to manage subscriptions in vBulletin...
Paypal handles subscriptions, but I'd rather not lose my account due to their bullshovic. Are there any processors that work with vBulletin to handle subscriptions?

I use amember from amember.com . It is a plugin that allows you to accept payments for subs in vbulliten and it automatically upgrades the member from registered user to premium user for you. It works with like 80 different payment processors and cross compatible with any and almost all other board softwares etc.
amember has been used on 30 or so of my sites over the past couple of years and automatically upgraded hundreds of thousands of members for me on it's own so I do not have to sit in front of a pc or hire a monkey to do that work, amember does it all on it's own. When the membership is expired, it will disable their password and email them to renew. Very robotic, very nice. I know this post will help you so fuckin much, so lemme know by replying. |

i have managed over 10k member subscriptions with paypal over the past 12months with no problems. There is a vbulletin hack that incorporates monthly and yearly subscriptions with ease.
The best thing to do with paypal is not to keep a lot of money in your account at any one time. As soon as mine clocks $100 bang its moved into my bank. |

No need to hire someone to make it work with netbilling, it is already in amember, here is a list of the payment processors that amember is compatible with for vbulliten forum sites who want to accept payments for "premium" memberships.
PayPal Y PayPal Recurring Payments Y 2Checkout Y Free - to allow free signup Y Moderated Free - admin must approve accounts Y DirectOne Y eWay - a popular Australian payment processor Y Authorize.Net (both SIM and AIM methods of integration supported) Y VeriSign PayFlow Link & PayFlow Pro Y ccBill - popular adult/subscription payment processor Y AllResell (formerly BeaverPay) Y EGS Pay (formerly AcPay) Y EcommerceHelpDesk Y EFS Y ECHO Y E-Matters Y InternetSecure Y IonGate Y LinkPoint Y MoneyBookers Y MultiCards Y NetBilling Y BeanStream Y NoChex Y PaymentsGateway Y PayReady Y PlugNPay Y ProBilling Y ProtX Y PsiGate Y WorldPay Y StormPay Y PasswordCall (phone billing) Y QChex - accept cheques online Y E-Gold Y CDG Commerce Y CompuWorld - full featured payment processor Y PayOS Y Clickbank Y IPayment.DE - european payment processor Y If yours is not there, you can build the plugin yourself with their plugin generator or ask amember staff to make you the plugin for like 100 bucks or less. |

What you are talking about is a payment gateway that works with Vbulletin.
A merchant solution or merchant account is simply a specific type of bank account that allows credit card or debit payments to be authorized, the gateway does the work via program integration. If you are in the US as your tag signifies, you can get a merchant account very cheaply and easily then choose a gateway that integrates with the software you desire ![]() if you have any questions about merchant solutions feel free to hit me up, its what I do ; )

I should probably ask this on their forum, but since I'm here - Netbilling, it looks to me like I need to change my whole database/signup process in order to handle paid customers through VB with amember. I really want it to work the same way paypal subscriptions do, did I miss something? Hit me up icq if you cna be of assistance, 169334379. Thanks

Interesting
Im interested to hear what webmasters would want from a company supplying you with a merchant account. For example would you just want an account to manage yourself, to do your own fraud scrubbing. Or would you want it tied into a data base that handles the scrubbing for you.
Someone here said getting your own account is easy, well if that were the case everyone would have one. In the adult industry it is quite expensive if you add the Visa set up fee ( which adds around $750 to the start up costs for adult transactions online ) And what also comes into play is your credit rating, a bad rating equals more risk therefore the banks will charge more and your transaction rate could be higher. Anyway let me know what you guys want from a company that would supply high risk merchant accounts to adult webmasters ? |

Getting a merchant acohahahaha for adult products or mainstream is very easy. Adult membership site merchant account setups are harder but they are certianly possible. I do not recommend it for startups but once you hit a decent monthly volume, I would highly recommend it. We just setup a new product account through Netbilling and it only took one day to get approved. We also have domestic and offshore merchant accounts for our paysites and we use Netbilling to handle all of our processing, scrubbing, and they do our call center customer service and phone orders too. Some guys with merchant accounts like to handle their own customer service but we leave it to Netbilling and they do a great job for us and have for several years now. We used to use 3rd party processing and have it for backup as cascading now as we do very well using our own merchant accounts, as many programs do. |
