I'll drink whatever's available. I don't think I have ever been required to drink bourbon yet though. I suppose I would if that was all there was left and the liquor store was closed. (unfortunately only certain stores are allowed to sell booze in Canada, and most of them seem to close early)

If I have my choice it's usually rum and coke or good old trusty beer.

Although sometimes I end up rubbing my head like this pondering why I am drinking at all.

Bourbon can only be made in the United States. (By international law) Most all Bourbons but a few are made in Kentucky, and Kentucky is the only state allowed to put its name on the bottle. Kentucky distillers are very adoment that Bourbon is not Bourbon unless the label says so. The name originates from Bourbon County Kentucky.

Beveldere particularly is fantastic, head and shoulders above anything else at that price point. If I'm wrong, prove it, offer an example of a Vodka that's the same price or less that tastes better. I'll be happy to try it.

JD is not bourbon, because while bourbon is a "type" of whisky (much like Scotch & Rye are as well) JD is just a straight up "Whisky" ...the difference has to do with the process... the one that you're thinking of is Jim Beam, which has got to be the most motherfucking disgusting bourbon on the planet, it shouldn't even be called Bourbon, it is SICK. Wild Turkey is a very nice bourbon, although I've heard that Makers Mark is even smoother, I am not inclined to spend the money on a whole bottle of it & then find out I despise it.
