JD is not bourbon, because while bourbon is a "type" of whisky (much like Scotch & Rye are as well) JD is just a straight up "Whisky" ...the difference has to do with the process... the one that you're thinking of is Jim Beam, which has got to be the most motherfucking disgusting bourbon on the planet, it shouldn't even be called Bourbon, it is SICK. Wild Turkey is a very nice bourbon, although I've heard that Makers Mark is even smoother, I am not inclined to spend the money on a whole bottle of it & then find out I despise it. Especially since I rarely drink bourbon as it is.
I've got a lot of funny stories about WT from when I was younger, mostly my friends going "ew how can you drink that?" and then saying stuff like "that shits weak" and then ending up doing faceplants on the floor after 4 shots
