first 4-7 days are the toughest. after that when you get the urge, eat candy or substitute the craving with something else to take your mind off of it. about 30-45 days depending on your body fat %. you will always get urges though. my uncle stopped 10 years ago and still gets the urge sometimes.

You have to call up Roto-Rooter and have them bring by the sump pump, stick it down your throat and suck the sludge out of your lungs... I know I have it done twice a week.

Like anything if one smokes in moderation, it will have little if any effect on overall long-term health. They are inherently bad for you, but so is an abundance of grease and fat or even such things as alcohol or the Sun's UV rays. If you enjoy a good smoke do so in moderation. If you took 20 shots of whiskey in a day because you like whiskey you'd be an alcoholic with a serious problem. The same isn't said for smokers who are obsessive about their consumtion of Cowboy Killers.
