Because most surfers click more than one time before they buy anything. So basically you can make more money out of a 20K tgp than 200k tgp, if all galleries are yours. + you can have your own spots/links to paysites.
I had many listings on thehun, but my shitty sites made more money. The galleries were the same, only more to choose from

Dane, this is just a wild guess, but I am thinking you never ran a 20k TGP/MGP, or have even seen the stats from one.

A 20k site sending out 1M daily hits to galleries would be worth it's weight in gold. It sounds like a simple math formula, but it has no basis in reality.

Sorry if I was harsh, as it wasn't like you were rippin gon someone selling something, or some other common balony that goes on here. You simply stated an idea. I should have been more patient, and pointed out how this idea just wasn't as easy as it looks on paper.

If you got 1,000,000 hits to galleries but all generated from 5 tgps with a total of 100,000 unique surfers... I bet you'd make a lot less than if you have 1,000,000 hits to galleries generated from 100 tgps with a total of 1,000,000 unique surfers.

While a paying surfer, on average, buys more than one membership, I don't think they do it all at once. I'm of the belief that sign ups are generated from galleries (it's different from other methods) with the surfer's "cock-in-hand". That's to say he found something that really did it for him and he wants to see more of that right now. If this is true, it clearly supports the theory that more unique hits = more sales. Who knows, maybe I don't know shit.

1 mill is unrealistic with a 20k tgp, because everyone had to click each 50 galleries. But if you have several tgps it could be realized.
My experience is from one of my freesites, not regular tgp, updating once a week, and with about 20k from mainsite its worth average 12-15 sales per day. In addition there are sales from traffic directly to galleries from other sources; SE, other freesites linkings, forums etc, in all 600k-800k daily raw hits.
When I get listed thehun (free spot), I am usually lucky if I get more than 10 sales, and that is with a lot more traffic than from my mainsite. But both strategies works, one better than another, but I try to cover it all

The number of galleries a surfer looks at is meaningless. Especially if we're talking a general category TGP.

Someone could click on 10 galleries and end up not liking any of them. Then the next guy sees just one and it's exactly what he wanted. So traffic numbers are tough to analyze in this area.

ya but those arent the only partners i have, pichunter my gals go to the front page automatically which is good traffic. i dont bother with all the small sites in the submitters, i just submit by hand to about 30-40 sites. its just a waste to do 1500 sites in the submitter. when you can do high traffic sites.

It is possible but it will take a while to ramp up and establish a rep for quality galleries with the reviewers. With CONSISTENT and DILIGENT work, almost everything is possible.
