It is doable, but is it safe? I wouldn't try and push your self that hard. But if you eat right , exercise, and take a natural dietary sup. it may work.

what method are you going to use?
i hope it's not some drugs or something. if it's volume reduction of food intake or more balanced diet, then that is better.

i would say 100% doable

A good weight loss is aprox 2 lbs a week.

I was once a plus size 20 on a 5 foot frame and know from experience it will stay off if you do it slow and steady, watch your portion sizes, walk 3 times a week, and drink LOTs of water.

Best of luck and don't forget to treat yourself when you meet a goal.

Well, the first step was getting back into the gym. Been back for two weeks. Next step will be to SOPT munching on chips and shit while watching TV. As far as regular eating habits go, Im pretty good with that. We cook most all our meals.

In that short of time it would be VERY hard to do and not safe. Just calculate how many calories you take in every day now (thats means everything right down to the piece of hard candy and sticks of gum).

Calculate what you currently burn each day just sitting on your ass. (Tons of calculators online for that just google it).

With those numbers and knowing ~3500 Calories is 1 pound. You put together a diet that will put you at a deficit of 45500 calories (13 pounds) in the time frame you specified. This comes out to a 4100 calorie deficit a day.

When I need to trim down I can do a 1k-2500 deficit with some effort. 4k+ would be a nightmear. Good luck with it.

You could do a colon cleanse, fast using water/lemon juice/cayenne pepper/honey I think. Google it. Had a friend do it and he said he never felt better in his life, I think he went 13 days total.

It's TOTALLY possible! Do a google search for HIITs (high intensity interval training) I've lost 15lbs in about 3 weeks of doing it half assed and eating steaks and potatos n shit with the occasional Jack in the box. So with hiits and a lot of water(you'll need it), it's entirely possible

I let myself go for the entire seven years I've been in this industry....

Stick with it. I'm losing a pound a week, which is what my trainer wants and it will take a while, since it took a while to get this out of shape.

Losing the weight too fast, as you already know, is not good for your body....and, while it doesn't seem to get any easier...I decided living was better than being sick or dying.

doable perhaps, but mostly a waste of time, because you will not be able to keep it off.

losing weight is a lifestyle thing.

1 to 1.5 lbs per week should be your goal if you want to keep it off---and it might take you 6 to 18 months to reach your goal, and then you go on maintenance.

short term fixes do not keep the weight off.

be scientific about it---you need to have a net calorie loss of about 3500 calories/week to lose one pound per week---and you must get serious about it.

do a BMI and find out your daily caloric requirements for you lifestyle, height, age, and weight.

now work backwards and put yourself on a diet YOU can tolerate and factor in any exercise program to lose any additional calories per week.

i would suggest a modified atkins plan for most people, but limit fats, count the calories and add lots of grapefruit and salads with low fat dressing.

but ANY diet will work if you have good nutrition and a plan---if you are lazy go buy seattle sutton or something---stay away from carbs, sugars in all their forms, refined foods, and fad diets.

the atkins plan will take you about 10 days to acclimate to it and for your stomach to shrink---after that you will lose hunger cravings. do not eat ANY sweets or sugars---trick your body into thinking you are full by drinking 12 ounces of cold water before every meal.

get off the booze and cigarettes---a diet is a health idea, it is for more than losing weight.

stop eating in restaurants, fix you own meals.

i would say at your current weight you need about 2300 calories per day for maintenance---so start by going on an 1800 calories diet (yes count the calories of everything you put in your mouth) and that will lose you 1 pound per week---if you want to lose more than 1 pound per week factor in exercise. you should weigh yourself everyday---and keep a weekly weight diary. also once a month take full length nude photos of yourself and file them---so you can visually see the difference and stay motivated. be prepared to start shopping for new clothes shortly.

bicycling outside is good if feasible---if not go buy a jump rope.

I remember you talking about your training and I am curious if you have begun to see the "old you" in the mirror yet?

Never having been thin and "regular sized" I didn't have a pix in my mind of what I might look like when I reached a goal. When I was fit enough to do weights, it was pretty mind-bending being forced to look at myself and watch the changes.

Keep up the good work This thread has reminded me should be back at the gym! Thanks!

It is doable. Since discovering the martial arts, I've lost about 50 pounds. The first pounds came off the fastest. It's been almost 90 days, so now I am averaging about half a pound a day. But as I'm building muscle mass, the weight loss has dramatically slowed, despite the fact I can see that in areas I am in fact losing fat.

What are your goals past July 1st?

It is doable, exercise, drink water and instead of munching on chips while watching tv buy some fresh express salad all ready cut up and eat it from the bag as you would potatoe chips. I was once 175pounds and am now down to 125. The secreat is really dedication. Stick to it and it will work but fall off the wagon and you'l be sorry.
It's almost like a religion or being an alcoholic. Maybe we should start a support group. hahahahaha

Yes it's doable. It depends on rather you have already been dieting and excersizng. If you're just starting a diet those first 13 to 20 pounds will go fast. Good luck

Hey Nick that's great to hear - I've lost a bit of weight myself - but I hope we can still do the belly flop in Miami again -
