losing weight is a lifestyle thing.

1 to 1.5 lbs per week should be your goal if you want to keep it off---and it might take you 6 to 18 months to reach your goal, and then you go on maintenance.

short term fixes do not keep the weight off.

be scientific about it---you need to have a net calorie loss of about 3500 calories/week to lose one pound per week---and you must get serious about it.

do a BMI and find out your daily caloric requirements for you lifestyle, height, age, and weight.

now work backwards and put yourself on a diet YOU can tolerate and factor in any exercise program to lose any additional calories per week.

i would suggest a modified atkins plan for most people, but limit fats, count the calories and add lots of grapefruit and salads with low fat dressing.

but ANY diet will work if you have good nutrition and a plan---if you are lazy go buy seattle sutton or something---stay away from carbs, sugars in all their forms, refined foods, and fad diets.

the atkins plan will take you about 10 days to acclimate to it and for your stomach to shrink---after that you will lose hunger cravings. do not eat ANY sweets or sugars---trick your body into thinking you are full by drinking 12 ounces of cold water before every meal.

get off the booze and cigarettes---a diet is a health idea, it is for more than losing weight.

stop eating in restaurants, fix you own meals.

i would say at your current weight you need about 2300 calories per day for maintenance---so start by going on an 1800 calories diet (yes count the calories of everything you put in your mouth) and that will lose you 1 pound per week---if you want to lose more than 1 pound per week factor in exercise. you should weigh yourself everyday---and keep a weekly weight diary. also once a month take full length nude photos of yourself and file them---so you can visually see the difference and stay motivated. be prepared to start shopping for new clothes shortly.

bicycling outside is good if feasible---if not go buy a jump rope.

too many fat-assed webmasters---all you guys can do is post "would you hit it" threads because most of you are too fat to get any real pussy.

now do something about it.
good post
