I've had the exact same thing happen with 2 Linksys wireless routers, and had a third one die all together. Never again.

Get a USRobotics wireless router.. i have two up and running for 5 months now and 0 problems so far.. rocksolid.. only downside: 4 ports only (rj45) and no uplink so you can to hook up max 4 machines with wire or go wireless..

I have one as well, and have had a few times where it would loose the connetion off and on. But all in all, it has been great. I have a second one for back up. BUt most of the others out there suck worse. And the other option is to buy one from cisco for like 2k.

Sounds to me like you got a bad one. Just cause it's new doesen't mean it works!!!!
If the problem persists i'd return it and get another one.

Never had a problem with mine

Hard wire it and see if it still has problems... If not then it could be interferance, then you will have problems with all of them as as far as I know they all use the same 2.4 channel

Just a suggestion,
make sure you firewall and name your connection so your neighbors cant use it. This is becoming more of a problem as wifi cards are becoming more popular and are great to tap into wireless routers. I currently have 3 wireless connections my laptop picks up. Only 1 bothered to firewall and name his connection. The other two are wide open for anyone to use.

Linksys and DLink suck ass

Cisco owns Linksys... it would be nice if they moved some of the quality of their high end routers towards their more mass market products

1 - change the channel
2 - if you have a cordless phone, relocate the wireless base to another location.
3 - download a copy of netstumbler, and use it to guage the network strength. YOu might have to re-orient the linksys box relative to the place you work.

Juicy, even without a uplink port, you can always cascade one router to another, you are NEVER restricted by how many wired connection you can have (although the DHCP will give up at 253)

Alex

Call tech help and let the guys in India help you out....they just read back the instructions to you and if you have a question that they can't figure out they put you on hold and then hang up.......
