Sponsor Scam or Innocent Mistake?

I spent a year promoting 18 Honeys... using their suggested shortened CCBill link codes, generating galleries with their gallery generator, and using their templates.

The only problem is...

Those templates never passed the cookie like it was suppose to.

I was checking my affiliate links... pulled up a 18 Honey's gallery... and took a look at the source code.

This was embedded in the template code:

a href="hxxp://refer.ccbill.com/cgi-bin/clicks.cgi?CA=924879-0000&PA=&HTML=hxxp://www.18honeys.com/home.htm"

The problem is... my affiliate number is not passed in the citation. The link should read:

... CA=924879-0000&PA=589915&HTML ...

And it wasn't just one template... I found at least four. There might have been more.

I posted this at Xbiz and as you might expect, Dickmann et al came flying out of the wood work, stumbling all over them selves, saying that they were going to bump me up to 65% for life, just needed my personal information, gonna send me an email and do the right thing... bla bla bla.

I never heard anything. Nothing. Zip. Shit.

Since they never got back to me, I figured that they are full of crap and just didn't want me to post anything on another board. If I kept quiet... maybe I would go away.

So I figure... what the hell.

You all have a right to know that those Dickmann templates have been cheating you for a long time.

And Bruno... The funny thing is, I never really wanted anything from you.

But when you make a promise, whether it be to be an honest partner to your affiliates, or get back to someone in a timely manner, you should keep your promises.

Someone posted a thread about the CCBILL syntax issue a while back as well. It depends on the formatting.

That is what I thought Trax...

But why did he try to blow smoke up my ass?

"Send us your information and we will bump you up to 65% for life". He had all the information he needed.

I will email you and do the right thing... He sent no emails.

Why even say something like that in the first place?

I didn't ask him for anything. My original post was to inform people to use long CCBill link citations whenever possible.

When he said all those empty promises, it was just bull shit.

Why try to bullshit me whan I didn't want anything and wasn't pissed?

I just wanted to point out to Stuart that your sig now appears on the right-hand side of sig area. If you did it on purpose, np, just a heads up.

Totally my here, but we have bumped affiliates for pointing out things that seemed strange even though they were wong. Not saying you are, but it's happened before. There are a couple affiliates we have that give us code tips and usability warnings and we take better care of them for it as our way of saying Thanks.

edit - I can't imagine why he wouldn't follow throguh with the bump though.

Yeah, but I have seen it many times before . Didn't make me want to click, made me think you messed up your code. Not slamming man, just thought you made a mistake.

Don't get me wrong.

I didn't want the bump.

I even didn't notify 18 Honeys that I found the mistake.

I simply posted a thread saying that long CCBill citations were better than short ones and used Bruno's template as an example where mistakes could be made.

Bruno came running in making the promises for no reason.

I never asked for anything and never expected anything.

But he said those thing, in my opinion, to keep me from posting the board with the mistake.

If any of you know me from XBiz, you know I would never acccept anything for free. But when Bruno made all those bullshit statements that were about as unsincere as could be, I wondered why.

That is why I posted the boards.

To ask if I have wasted my time for the last year promoting a cheat?

Like someone said, I guess I should have checked the links better... but who really goes and looks at template code? Just me, I guess.

So Bruno just acted guilty with the false promises routine... and he didn't have to do that since I didn't ever want anything from the beginning.

Understand?

Heh, no worries... it's ok, like I said, I'm just trying something new. NichePay isn't even taking any new affiliates at the moment while we do our upgrades, so it's mostly just for show at the moment anyway.

18HONEYS OFFICIAL POST

Lifer,

Here we go, as straight to the point as possible:

ONE: I have bumped your account to 65% MYSELF on the next day after I posted about it on XBiz. I have been around for years man. Since I turned 18 years old I am in the biz. And I NEVER NEVER NEVER broke my word. I will be in biz for LIFE. Its challenging, its profitable and I fucking LOVE IT.

TWO: *WHY* did I offer a bump if you didn´t ask for it? Not a single reason other than thanking you for pointing this out, as suggested by someone else on the Xbiz Thread. So there you go. Your assumption about me being a bullshitter is plain wrong.

THREE: We contacted you man. Thiago, my Operations manager, sent a couple messages by iCQ and then emailed you to get online and talk to us. So please... think about it.. do you think I would risk my 5 year reputation by promising something I can´t or wouldn´t deliver?

FOUR: Once again... I am deeply sorry for our mistake. I wrote that a douzen times already but it seems like you don´t believe it. Believe it or not, I am.We fixed it IMMEDIATELY after your post letting us now about it.

If you have any other questions or concerns, just reply to the emails and iCQ messages we sent you.

Regards,

Bruno Dickman

You tell em bruno, look in the 3 years of dealing with bruno, i can tell you at no time has bruno or his staff every broken a promise, we spend tens of thousands a year with dickmans and trust me his reputation is golden, I guess lifer you should have checked your payouts before coming in here and trying to flame bruno, when you fuck with one of the most honest and straight forward guys in the business you are doing the wrong thing. I am sure you have the emails to bruno and his staff, did you ever email them asking about this. If you werent pissed and didnt expect anything why on earth would you have done these posts, to try and deface a rock solid reputation of an owner and company. Doesnt make sense, sounds like and sadly you will get plenty of sig views for your efforts, however I am removing my sig from this post since I could care less about sig views, and only coming to the side of a very good and trusted friend in this business, take your flaming somewhere else, find a dirty program or bad person and attack them, but leave the dickmans out of your shithole

Well Bruno...

Prove it that you bumped it to 65 % on Friday.

I really don't give a shit since I never wanted anything to start with.

No one contacted me ICQ or emailed me.

I never asked you for anything in the first place.

I just pointed out the error.

You were the man with all the tall talk when challenged by someone else on the board. I didn't tell you to say all that shit.

If you say you would contact me... you should have done so. When you didn't do what you said you would do, it told me that you were blowing me off. What else was I to think?

You didn't have to do anything in a PM, email, or ICQ. The question was posted on a board. Why not answer it on the board? You didn't need my personal information as you posted... you just got finished saying that you bumped me without it. So why say that you needed the information?

It's your affiliates that got cheated all year not mine.

Now you are pissed at me.

It was never about you, 18 Honeys or the fucking template. It was always about affiliates using long CCBill citations whenever possible.

If i had been pissed... I would have posted the boards last week.

You not getting back to me was bull shit and you know it. I knew damn right well that you monitor the boards, and as soon as I said anything more, you would finally get back to me.

Forget it man... I always did the best I could for you... even notified you when they were fuskering your ass last year and stealing bandwidth.

I didn't ask for you to stroke me... so don't promise that you will.

Mr. General Manager Afraid to post with your real nick:

Bruno already admitted that the templates were fucked up.

You need to go back to grammer school and reading comprehension.

I posted because Bruno tried to blow smoke up my ass.

I don't give a shit whether you believe me or not. I have the screen shots where the templates were bad. He has posted at XBiz that the templates were bad

So what are you defending?

I'm sure it is a misunderstanding.

But why did I have to bring it to the boards to get an answer?

Bruno and his entire crew are stand up guys... I would trust him above any other's i've met. If he says he bumped your payout then I would wager my last dollar that he did. Not to attack anyone else here but Bruno's word is as good as gold in my book...

I just wanted to close this topic since I started all the drama.

I talked with Bruno... and I am sure that the mistake in the templates was really a mistake. I never meant to imply otherwise.

There must have been a communications problem for one reason or another... since I expected to be contacted and wasn't. I took it the wrong way when it very well may have been a real communication problem.

I should have known better than to think anything but the best from 18 Honeys... after all I have supported them in the past, they have supported me in the past, and want to promote them in the future.

So anyone reading this post after the fact can rest assured that I consider 18 Honeys and The Dickmann Design team to be people of their word.

And I look forward to working with them in the future.

Everyone can make mistakes. You found out, let him know, and he gave you 65%.

I know Bruno for many many years, and there is no advantage of making such abvious mistakes on purpose.

I may be off here but I have a question about this. If you link to a gallery like this with ccbill: a href="hxxp://refer.ccbill.com/cgi-bin/clicks.cgi?CA=924879-0000&PA=589915&HTML=hxxp://www.18honeys.com/somegallery.html (made up gallery of course)

And then all the links on the hosted gallery have such links as a href="hxxp://refer.ccbill.com/cgi-bin/clicks.cgi?CA=924879-0000&PA=&HTML=hxxp://www.18honeys.com/home.htm" with no account number whatsoever.

Then would it not set your cookie once you linked to the gallery and it was clicked. Then any other such links as long as they did not have another affiliate account number just pass on the traffic as normal and keep reading your cookie that was placed with the initial link? Since there is no new cookie overriding your initial cookie.

Yes, that is how it works. I think if you were to click all the way to the join page, the affiliate id would be there. The ccbill code doesn't know the difference between it being a gallery on the domain or part of the tour, so it all works the same.

I thought that was the case.
Also if they do it the way I showed, would it not start counting the click at the entrance to the gallery. Thus you would literally know your conversion ratio from the point you droped the surfer into the sponsors hands (at the hosted gallery).

I talked with Bruno... and I am sure that the mistake in the templates was really a mistake. I never meant to imply otherwise.

Yeah right.
