For those of you who run a straight and honest TGP - this was totally new to me, and so others might want to learn about it.

Sunnydollars is using some nasty, VERY nasty autodownloads and autodialers on their foreign traffic. Sunnydollars did NOT tell me about this. Personally, I think this is a scam. Now you're warned, guys.

Sunnydollars is no longer going to fuck my site or trick my surfers using dirty, scamming tricks balancing on the thin edge of the law in most non-US states.

Here's my correspondance with Tom from Sunnydollars on the subject.

I do not want ANY fucking DIALERS or AUTODOWNLOADS related to my honest TGP - and you did not in ANY way notify me about your redirections. In fact, you're promoting your company as now being straight and clean, using no consoles, etc... This is outrageous.

You did not in ANY way get my acceptance to redirect and FUCK my surfers with dialer scam. Your lack of business moral is a disgrace to the industry.

This auto download and dialer notification goes public NOW.

1) We are redirecting foreign traffic from hosted galleries to the dialer ...
2) you are geting paid for that ... you should see that your codes are still in the links ...
3) we are still totally console free program ... please grab our linking codes and see that we have no consoles.

I think that the best explanation is that we pay for these dialer transactions ... so you are not wasting your traffic.

We run it today morning and it will be up till monday morning to see if our webmasters will earn on it. We'll stay with it if so.

In this day and age, with such affordable hosting, and numerous gallery designers who can create converting templates, there is just no excuse for a sponsor to fuck around on the hosted galleries.

As you see we only want to test this solution for next 3-4 days and only on non-english language traffic. Also, you get paid 50% so what's wrong with it ? If you do not like just do not send us traffic anymore.

If this really works for us and webmasters, we will make this as an option. We think 3-4 days is not a long time!

Some foreign traffic..like UK, dutch even german traffic can convert

I'd say it's about the bottom line, they probably make just as much or more with an overpriced dialer than they do with CC signups.

Some places redirect Australian surfers to dialers for this reason.

autodialers will make you a quick buck, but you will never see those surfers again anywhere near ur gallies. I hate this shit. You can use dialers, but please let the surfer chose and don't tell them what to do.

We talk here only about non-english language traffic from hosted galleries. That's all.

There dialers are not auto anything. End user has the option to accept terms and agreement and click and enter. Or if it is broadband they call a number... be informed of the price of connection then receive a pin to enter the site.

Just so the record on that is straight.

Hosted galleries really should be a good thing for sponsors and TGPs alike, but with a few honorable exceptions, it just isn't working out that way.

Every time you turn around someone is deleting galleries without telling anyone, re-directing traffic, or else you find out that the servers grind to a halt at busy times of the day. And that's after you have sorted out all the crap galleries, spent hours collecting the URLs, writing descriptions, making thumbs, etc., etc. Oh and found a way to deal with codes that choke most of the trade scripts and link checkers.

What we have here is a failure to communicate. I'm not one of your big affiliates, so maybe my opinion doesn't count?

Traffic is important for reasons besides conversions. It also drives trades. Some of that traded traffic goes to places where non-english traffic is manged in a responsible way (so has not to lose a surfer). In fact they may be directed to a site in their native tongue.

You're not the first to change hosted galleries on the fly. To be fair others have added exit pages or ended hosting leaving a 404 page. My database has over 20K galleries, a bit much to check every day, even with automation.

Other things to watch out for from hosted galleries that are emailed to you -- CHECK your affiliate IDs!!!! If one is right that doesn't mean all of them are!!!! I did not catch SunnyDollars doing this.

I wouldn't allow a submitter to redirect non-english traffic, why should you get away with it? What's next? You're going to test out an aggressive console chain off the galleries? Or just re-direct everyone to a dialer? I mean, that would save bandwidth, right?

There's a reason why TGPs has a rule about not redirecting traffic or drive it through a dialer.

Damage control..... Sorry, I've been away from this discussion for some hours - the last Ninja and immidiate removal of 351 TGP spots that had a Sunnydollars gallery.

Then suddenly my internal productivity raised again significantly - I got suspicious couple a days ago when I noticed my productivity was rapidly descenting.

From that point, I claim that the SCAM practice from Sunnydollars seriously WILL damage any honest TGP, and surely - the inflicted surfers will NEVER want to visit your site again.

Btw: My conversions come from all over the world, not just from the US. Fact. Actually, you have seriously damaged my income and my site's reputation for - how many days did you say this shit has been going on?? Let's say four days, from what my prod. stats say.

Let's say you send me 1500 $ for your four days of bad practice, covering my lost traffic and lost revenue due to YOUR fucking dialer testing - this I have never accepted in the first place - and certainly I NEVER would, if you had asked me - which is probably why you didn't, right ;)

Setting things traight: What I experienced randomly testing my galleries - Sunnydollars galleries automacitally loads a page that starts a traditional WIndows autodownload warning:

"Do you want to install end run this...?"
It installs a dialer from Tawte.CA and Holistyc Limited.
When you reject this, a new window pops up saying "you MUST install this software - press OK"
And this circus will loop itself. I had to boot my Explorer, exactly as all my foreign surfers had to - for probably four days.

Appx. 45% of my traffic is foreign - so 45% of my surfers are LOST during the four days thanks to YOU. So I would just like to see you cover MY expenses for YOUR dialer shit testing going on from my site without my knowlegde.

Should this practice really become acceptable in this industry???
Is it ever acceptable - under ANY circumstance - for an affiliate program without notice to change policy and start redirecting YOUR surfers from YOUR site to a fucking dialer site and a malicious looping auto download program??

My opinion? This is bad practice, bad business & bad karma.

I don't check into gify much anymore, but I read this thread earlier tonight and noticed a few minutes ago when I clicked through my account at Sunny Dollars that a notice is now there about the dialers. Maybe the publicity here is not good? I hate dialers too and have my settings at all revenue sources set to "Fuck No!". SD was a good source of $$$ the last two years, but I really have no idea what might be going on these days as I'm pushing all the re-curring income I can thru CCBill so that when I decide to leave this world I have sustained income.

If its in your Terms Of Service and you announce to your webmasters that you are going to do this then nothing is wrong with it. If you dont, then it is an unethical move on your part, even though webmasters get 50% revshare on the dialer.

It actually isn't easyfun who says that, he changed his nick before saying that.

Regardless, the mere fact that they kissed and made up doesn't make the whole thing particularly less shady. If anything, it makes it worse... if it had been simple slander, a lawsuit would have cleared their name, and there would have been no reason to make friends with the person doing the slandering.

I don't know what happened, all I know is that their past looks a bit too tainted for my tastes. This hosted gallery testing stuff without an email notification to webmasters only adds to that

Every time you turn around someone is deleting galleries without telling anyone, re-directing traffic, or else you find out that the servers grind to a halt at busy times of the day. And that's after you have sorted out all the crap galleries, spent hours collecting the URLs, writing descriptions, making thumbs, etc., etc. Oh and found a way to deal with codes that choke most of the trade scripts and link checkers.

Sorry, I've been away from this discussion for some hours - the last Ninja and immidiate removal of 351 TGP spots that had a Sunnydollars gallery. Then suddenly my internal productivity raised again significantly - I got suspicious couple a days ago when I noticed my productivity was rapidly descenting. From that point, I claim that the SCAM practice from Sunnydollars seriously WILL damage any honest TGP, and surely - the inflicted surfers will NEVER want to visit your site again. Btw: My conversions come from all over the world, not just from the US. Fact. Actually, you have seriously damaged my income and my site's reputation for - how many days did you say this shit has been going on?? Let's say four days, from what my prod. stats say. CAn I just send you a bill for my lost income during your (quote "testing period" ? Let's say you send me 1500 $ for your four days of bad practice, covering my lost traffic and lost revenue due to YOUR fucking dialer testing - this I have never accepted in the first place - and certainly I NEVER would, if you had asked me - which is probably why you didn't, right ;) Setting things traight: What I experienced randomly testing my galleries - Sunnydollars galleries automacitally loads a page that starts a traditional WIndows autodownload warning: "Do you want to install end run this...?" It installs a dialer from Tawte.CA and Holistyc Limited. When you reject this, a new window pops up saying "you MUST install this software - press OK" And this circus will loop itself. I had to boot my Explorer, exactly as all my foreign surfers had to - for probably four days. Appx. 45% of my traffic is foreign - so 45% of my surfers are LOST during the four days thanks to YOU. So I would just like to see you cover MY expenses for YOUR dialer shit testing going on from my site without my knowlegde. Should this practice really become acceptable in this industry??? Is it ever acceptable - under ANY circumstance - for an affiliate program without notice to change policy and start redirecting YOUR surfers from YOUR site to a fucking dialer site and a malicious looping auto download program?? Maybe the publicity here is not good? I hate dialers too and have my settings at all revenue sources set to "Fuck No!". SD was a good source of $$$ the last two years, but I really have no idea what might be going on these days as I'm pushing all the re-curring income I can thru CCBill so that when I decide to leave this world I have sustained income.
