Amp, it does look like the the CIA and the US in general were caught with their pants down here, and I'm sure that as you say things are going to be different from now on. I'm sure that US security will be tightened up the ying-yang for a long time to come.

One small thing to be thankful for is that those planes weren't carrying nuclear weapons. But they could have, and THAT is truly frightening.

All we can do at the moment is pray for those that are in or near the destroyed buildings, and the poor souls that were merely passengers on board the planes.

Jedi, I'm not from the Intelligence Agency. Yes, they fucked up. I speak as a US war veteran. What I CAN say for certain is that we are without question a force to be reckoned with. I was once a part of that force, in a military capacity, and I think I have the right to speak my fucking piece.

imagine that mexico was ruling a big part of the USA, taking of most basic right of the US citizen, parking them in strips with no ressource or right whatsoever, and that everyone knew that mexico was armed ,payed and blindly supported by russia while they were performing massacres in the "orlando strip" and constantly sending mexican settlers further and further in the american land.imagine that there's a NATO resolution forbiding mexico to take more land and telling them to give back some, but because of the mexican diaspora in russia which would be a big part of the electors russia would not force mexico to go by the rules like they did with yougoslavia and irak. i'm sure that in this case most americans would dance in the streets if russia would be attacked the same way...I don't excuse their attitude here, but I kind of understand.
please to mistake your enemies, the palestinians are not usa's enemies, the international terrorism in all its forms is the real enemy, unfortunately they are not so easy to erradicate as a nation like yougoslavia...you cannot bomb a whole country just to kill bin ladden...
if the mossad and the CIA did their work this should not have happened.. remember that after the arrest of the author of the world trade bombings in '95 the CIA found plans of a similar attack in one of the bin ladden HQ in filipinas...what did they do?

what amases me is that 4 planes at the same time where hijicked and i recall that once i 've been forbidden to enter a plane coz i had a nail clipper in my pocket...
the terrorists must have had serious help from some airport security people to enter the planes...and its appenrently not possible that a guy alone hijacks a plane and pilots it, they should have been at least two by plane (and knowing how to pilot a jumbo jet)... the whole story has some shady points and only the time will reveal the truth about this matter. but once again even if it smell like bin ladden 99% make sure you got the right people before retaliating...

i would understand if they were cheering over some military victory. But a lot of innocent civilian people died - nothing joyfull about it.

i think that for them the news was "two buildings and the pentagone were destroyed" and that they didn't even think bout the civilians involved.i tell again i don't excuse this attitude but i can understand it in some way...and i totally agree with you jedi...except that in afghanistan the talibans are only the third if not less of the population...you would put yourself at the same level as the terrorist if you are really thinking to put all the afghanis to dust....in this case the bombings in irak and yougoslavia could also be taken as terrorist acts as more civilian than military died during the american raids..

I just would like to mention a situation somewhat similar to this. Pearl Habour. Now so many years after the fact information is coming out that they knew Pearl Harbour attack was coming, they didn't know when, or with what force, and they couldn't do anything until they did actually attack. This could be same situation. The US government says they are confident it is Bin Laden, he did send a telegraph exactly one week prior stating that the US would suffer drastic economic times within the next week. As before Laden had always sent a telegraph stating before any of his terrorist acts. The US government likely knew something was going to happen, but not likely the magnitude. There really isn't anything can do to prepair for this. It's very sad.
