I just would like to mention a situation somewhat similar to this. Pearl Habour. Now so many years after the fact information is coming out that they knew Pearl Harbour attack was coming, they didn't know when, or with what force, and they couldn't do anything until they did actually attack. This could be same situation. The US government says they are confident it is Bin Laden, he did send a telegraph exactly one week prior stating that the US would suffer drastic economic times within the next week. As before Laden had always sent a telegraph stating before any of his terrorist acts. The US government likely knew something was going to happen, but not likely the magnitude. There really isn't anything can do to prepair for this. It's very sad.
