Amp, it does look like the the CIA and the US in general were caught with their pants down here, and I'm sure that as you say things are going to be different from now on. I'm sure that US security will be tightened up the ying-yang for a long time to come.
One small thing to be thankful for is that those planes weren't carrying nuclear weapons. But they could have, and THAT is truly frightening.
All we can do at the moment is pray for those that are in or near the destroyed buildings, and the poor souls that were merely passengers on board the planes.
Sad day for the US, sad day for the world.
