great book... one of my favourites.

But don't watch the movie after you read the book.

The movie sucks.

The book is wayyyyyy more graphic than the movie. It's great.

Read the part about the homeless guy a few times.

Yes. When the killing starts it's like 100000000000000000000000% more horrible and violent than in the movie. It was quite disturbing the first time I read it.

I felt the same way when I saw the video of the russian soldier here..

Read it a long time ago- wasn't it a source of inspiration for Paul Bernardo?

Brett Easton Ellis writes great books.
Rules of Attraction is 100x's better than the movie.. same with less than zero..

Enjoy... Psycho was my favorite too...

I'm pretty sure he's written a few more books... I have yet to search them out since I got stuck behind this computer

The book is incredibly funny - I remember reading it in a food court at one of the local malls and I got to the part where he is taking a couple of models out to dinner and they start talking about the solar system - truly laugh out loud, tears coming down your face funny. The looks I got when people noticed that it was American Psycho I was reading.

i'm totally into this book now. it's unlike anything else i've ever read. very original.

and yes, Paul Bernardo said he was inspired to kill and rape after reading it.

I agree with all the above that the book was WAY WAY better and more graphic then the movie ever was... The movie was well done and I liked christen bale in it but the book is way better.

I think I am going to pull it out and re-read it now actually since its been a few years.

I've read all of his books. American Psycho is crazy, violent and funny as hell. When he goes off about the various 80's bands and singers I couldn't stop laughing. The movie isn't very good I thought.

The only book of his I didn't really like was Glam-o-rama which was about the modeling world and the "in crowd" in new york. I thought it was kind of boring, but his other stuff is amazing.

I've read it probably 10 times now. The movie was good- just different, more satirical/less gore. They got lots of heat when they announced they were making it so they really had to tone it down

its amusing.. yet incredibly sickening.. i can't believe his imagination comes up with such disgusting scenarios.. (ie, the 'rat' scene).

i read it many years ago. the movie would have to have been rated NC-17 to faithfully portray the stuff the guys does in the book!

the funniest scene is when he takes the urinal cake, coats it in chocolate syrup, freezes it, puts it in a Godiva chocolate box and gives it to his girlfriend and she bites into it. priceless!

I think that the business card section in the book is just classic the book is much much better than the movie.

Read less than zero after your done it's nice too.
